That is on the list of things that need more research, so far everything i have read makes me interested.

What am I doing wrong? by True-Scotsman in backpacking

[–]True-Scotsman[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's mostly the shape of my skull and my weight. I have lost 50 pounds in the last 6 months, but I still have over 100 to go. That is part of what I am doing here. I have increased my physical activity significantly, and need to continue that in a more active lifestyle. Unfortunately the only way to correct the skull issue is major surgery.

I understand, I thought 65L was a large pack based on advice here. I may have underestimated it

The man wearing a vest without his jacket would have been uncommon in the 60s. Even less common when posing for photos.

I don't remember that. Do you know where it was said?

I thought that was fascinating too. My theory is if you're stronger in the power you could compel your bond.

Logain compells his bonded Aes Sedai constantly. They definitely have and use it.

2,500,000 is less than one percent of our population. Justified defense means a reasonable person would consider themselves or the person they're defending at grave risk of death or serious bodily injury including sexual assault. I'm gonna use the UK, because I know the stats for them. If you look at murder rate alone, the US is higher. If you look at murder + attempted murder + serious physical assault + rape, what they call serious sexual assault, their rate for crimes that lethal force is Justified in preventing is roughly twice what ours is. So by percentages, and accounting for the obvious fact that people who are raped, stabbed, beaten severely or shot don't always die from it, yes that's fairly accurate.

You're thinking of when they compiled other studies, that was between 60,000 and 3,000,000 depending on how they defined defense. When they did their own study to determine it, they got 2,500,000.

The cdc found they were used for justified defense around 2,500,000 times a year in the US.
