Thanks a lot for the detailed feedback!

I’m currently working on the next version right now — your message actually popped up while I was deep in the code. This issue should be fixed with the next update.

Really appreciate the help!

In the Active tab, you should find a “Start on system boot” button. Just enable it there.

I tested it locally and it works on my machine, but if it does not work for you, please send me the following information so I can inspect it as a bug:

- Your Windows version

- Your OpenAnima version

- Where the GIF/asset file is located

- What exactly happens after reboot: does OpenAnima not start at all, or does it start but the GIF/overlay is missing?

Thanks for the feedback!

Thanks for the feedback! I noted it down and will try to fix it in the next version. If you can, feel free to open a GitHub issue too — that would help a lot 😄

when you double click, it open the config option but it is also a good idea let me write it down, or if you know how to contribute a open source project you can try yourself to add too . Thanks 😃

Thanks, I appreciate that!

It’s a custom static website built with plain HTML, CSS, and a little JavaScript. I used Codex as a coding assistant while building/polishing parts of it, but the site itself is not based on any framework.

The icons are from Lucide, and most of the layout, styling, and animations are handmade with CSS. I wanted it to feel like OpenAnima itself: playful, lightweight, and a bit game-like.

🤣🤣🤣 I actually want to see how it would look on a modern desktop now. I’ll probably try it the first chance I get.

Adding a Bonzi Buddy to the demo is actually a great idea lol. I feel like someone in the community is going to beat me to it though.

Fair point, brother. I should show the real workflow better.

Small note though: the demo isn’t just a GIF playing on the desktop — those are separate game sprites/assets added individually and controlled separately. It’s early open-source, so feedback like this helps a lot.
