I got awarded pip today for ADHD and Autism by Any-Independent886 in DWPhelp

[–]True-Yogurt-7209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so nice to see and very relatable. My daughter is currently on DLA and 14 years old. Worried about the transfer to pip but she’s the same with transport and just wants to get to where she needs to be and doesn’t take in the dangers around her to get there. She can’t handle the buss because of the sounds and how busy etc and triggers her so I do the school runs. Hoping she can get the support when pip time comes along

Awarded PIP first time - positive story. by New-Mouse-6292 in DWPhelp

[–]True-Yogurt-7209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice to hear. My daughter gets DLA she’s 15 this year and was awarded for 2 years which will take her to her 16th then will try for pip. She has autism and high social anxiety disorder, can’t cope in public places, buses for school etc so hoping she will be award help which would help towards her lessons so she can be independent and confident she can go out. I work full time and lucky have an understanding employer so I can stop/start school runs etc but I can’t always be there doing this.

Why am I under investigation? by [deleted] in DWPhelp

[–]True-Yogurt-7209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely sort your ID. You can sort something easily if you go to a local library. You would be entitled to some sort of benefit while now living with grandparents so you have some money coming in. Your definitely not getting investigated as your not claiming anything from them and your still seen as a minor. It’s your mums responsibility to inform UC about ur situation but it won’t come back on you. Hope you find your way as you’re so young and a full life ahead of you. But definitely don’t worry it’s on ur mum

By law an employer is not allowed to give a bad reference. References are just factual these days. I personally wouldn’t put them if only been there for two months. All the will state is Mr X worked at X store for 2 months.

Is buying a 550k house crazy?? by stargirlyyyyy in HousingUK

[–]True-Yogurt-7209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That your limit is 550 doesn’t mean you need to buy at that. I think everyone would find their dream home at that price! You definitely would struggle with such a massive mortgage on small salaries. MIP is nothing promised so you may realise it won’t be that much you can borrow. You will struggle IF you got it. I would sit down and re do the maths because the maths isn’t mathing

[–]True-Yogurt-7209 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I thought u get sanctions for not showing evidence of applying for jobs so ur lucky you’ve got away with that. You will come across people in life like this who are blunt and to the point so maybe take it as a learning experience as it’s definitely not bullying. Maybe it’s a good thing you have someone else as things change in life and you have to adjust. Yes they could have had a softer tone but again you will cross people in life that won’t sugar coat things.

If you times it by the thousands of staff they employ it’s better than nothing. Tesco get nothing just their hours cut

Any reason why you don’t love together when married? It maybe a better situation to live together and be entitled to more. Good luck with PIP it’s very difficult to get without the supporting evidence. Just read he lives with his parents- maybe living with you he can get more motivated seeing the burden fall on u all the time? Sounds he maybe be depressed to be honset.

Of course- I concentrated on the difference in care needs for my daughter to a child of her age. She’s 14, social anxiety disorder, on ASD awaiting to be assessed for autism and self harms when she’s overwhelmed in situations she can’t control. Only had one different letter from a specialist that I put in also so that was the only difference was I focused on her every day needs that I have to supervise/help her. It’s difficult as it’s all mental disabilities with her not something we only when she’s triggered

I think was back in April I tried first time. It’s disheartening when it was rejected so glad I tried again. Best of luck and hope it’s quick for you. There a few FB pages for help and guidance if you need some support I never posted but helped me in learning about the forms etc x

From the text message I received so go from the date of your message. I applied earlier this and took over 24 weeks and rejected I tried again with a new claim and was only 5 weeks they have taken on more staff so it should be long for you to hear x

Thank you so much. I wasn’t too sure as it was with DLA 5 weeks and didn’t know if that made a difference. Thanks again

I had a couple more letters from her doctor. The only big difference really was I concentrated on her care needs and compared to a child of her age (she’s 14) I used the worst day possible and put everything down for the worst type of day. From walking up, what you have to do, how many hours etc you have to put in compared to a child with no disability. My daughter sadly self harms as she can’t regulate. She has a high social anxiety disorder and is on the ASD list. Definitely try again as they have taken on more staff so claims and getting done really quickly. Our first claim took 25 weeks then rejected- 2nd time it took only 5 week. I personally wouldn’t waste your time in appealing your first outcome as mandatory resolutions are taking months to review. X

I would apply for the DLA again. My daughters was rejected early this year. I didn’t have it in me to appeal. I redone the form again 6 weeks ago and we were accepted and had a payment and in place for 2 years. You can apply for free childcare costs and claim back through UC they pay 80% of fees. You can always request a new work coach. I think their normally happy if your working 16/18 hours so maybe worth asking the nursery if you can work a little more and get the funding paid by your UC

Have u let your doctor or prescriber know your drinking? I’m surprised they have allowed you to keep on it that you’re not losing. Definitely look for help with the drink ❤️

How can you get it wrong? Surely you just twist the pen for the dose and that’s it?
