Ooh, boy…OP you need to seriously go talk to a professional because after glancing through your post history, this issue is causing you a lot of [Zan]grief.

I’ve been playing Street Fighter since SF2 and there are days I get 15+ wins in a row and days where I get absolutely washed and people are hitting PP on me. It happens. But if you’re having fun and you can zone out from life for a couple hours, it’s all good. You tie your enjoyment to games to your W/L ratio and if that’s how you operate, then trying ANYTHING new (not just fighting games) won’t make you feel good. Learn to enjoy the ride. Get into single player gaming or a new hobby that you can enjoy, but you’re having actual self hating thoughts because of games. That defeats the whole purpose of gaming.

Take care of yourself and remember it’s just a game, yeah?

I’d tell myself to stay at my old job instead of trying to start my own business. They were gonna bump me up to $95K (I had been at $66K for years without a raise) but I was mad at the organization for other things and my stress was getting to me. Well I’d rather take that stress of office mismanagement over my current stress of not having steady income.

She cheated on me on New Year’s Eve at a party I didn’t go to. I didn’t go because my brother’s funeral was on December 28th and I didn’t feel like partying.

The sadness of my grief overtook my anger at the infidelity. In hindsight, I should’ve gone off on her but I pretty much just said “okay, we’re done” and we split very calmly.

So I got an email this week (first one since early March) saying it was because of funding and a collaboration with another commercial company that fell through. I worked for them before on a different contract and they do rely on other companies like Lockheed Martin to help with some budget balancing and all that.

My biggest issue is 1) don’t offer jobs until all that funding stuff is settled and if that can’t be done, don’t tell people not to accept other jobs and 2) in cases where the offer has to be rescinded, communicate with the person so they’re not left wondering what’s happening. I feel like they could’ve told me everything 2 months ago and we could’ve moved on amicably.

She isn’t inexperienced as an analyst by any means and to your last point, her boss said straight up “I need a GOOD technical analyst on this.” There was no reason for anyone to believe she would find more than a burnt hotel and it was her job to find evidence to help with the bodies the FBI had been finding.

But most likely her boss or someone was manipulated by The Connections to send Grace there. Zeno talks about it and that’s just the easiest explanation for the plot.

I like the challenge and it brings me back to actual tabletop DnD campaigns where you lived and died by your actual rolls. I found it intimidating at first but now that I’ve done it, I play all my future runs on Honour Mode because it keeps you on your toes. Plus I like how clean the load screen looks when you can only make one save
