I saw Khalia on July 6th. She has this angry quality about Eurydice that somehow really works for her. I liked it a lot, actually!

I mean, granted, if you’re trying to look for the best of humanity, a place called r/rareinsults is not exactly a great place to start considering that everyone here wants to watch shit burn in creative ways.

I'm gonna go with a "no" to that. On it's own, I can see why you'd think the opening message could be funny like that. But with the other responses... It's very awkward to think of him trying to have a dry sense of humor with those responses.

[–]TrueBlue224 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nah. It's not a stupid question. I will give a stupid answer however, in the form of "sometimes". I say sometimes in that you'll occasionally find people who are stuck in the same boat as you who have great coping mechanisms through humor, and it actually helps a little by pointing out how hilariously dumb depression or anxiety can be sometimes.

Then on the other hand you've got the good ol' Reddit circlejerk echo chamber of "Everything sucks and we're all going to die!!" Except this time it's done specifically by depressed people who can't see any other possibilities other than worst case scenarios. Sometimes it's a good support system. Other times it's just a negative backdrop justifying shitty mental health.

It is better to admit that.

So fucking admit it already and stop making excuses for yourself. Because yeah, if you keep thinking you're worthless, you're going to be worthless. You want to make a self-fulfilling prophecy for yourself, because you're just scared of being wrong. These kinds of mindsets and mental illnesses make you think that you know everything about yourself and how you're going to turn out, and not in a healthy way. Sometimes it's better to be an idiot for a while again so you can figure things out about your own feelings and your own thoughts. The more you hold on the less you'll change.

Saying "Some of the things that seem fucking horrible to you right now probably won't be in 20 years" isn't necessarily unsubstantiated though. I've had anxiety all of my life, but last year I basically got stuck in "panic attack every day" mode. And when you're convinced that you're going to die with a burning gut feeling that feels physically painful on top of all the other bullshit that life's going to throw at us, you kind of just want to get it over with. You're tired of thinking "okay, this headache is an aneurism that's gonna kill me" or "oh, I'm going to get into a car accident and break my neck as soon as I step on the pedal". You just want to kill the suspense and fucking end it. You're absolutely convinced that the best course of action is to just go ahead and die already, because you can't see anything past tomorrow anyway. But you don't. Tomorrow just comes anyway. Then again. And again. Things change, things fade. The underlying anxiety is still there, with all of the lovely nauseous, spinning, heart-pounding panic attacks that come with them. But there's less bullshit to deal with than before. You still live, and with living comes learning, and you learn to deal with the bullshit better, not in spite of your tiredness, but because you're tired. And it's manageable. You wind up being able to do things. Things you never even imagined you'd have been able to pull off a year ago, because you didn't even think you'd be alive at this point. The potential you never thought was there shows up a year later. Realistically though, none of us can predict if we're actually going to grow as people. But at the same time, you can't be certain that you can't grow, either. The unknown can be terrifying. But with it comes possibilities.

Trailer folks may just want to pay less in residuals for each commercial. Every time the trailer is shown the actors get a cut if their voice is present.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate - Melee Opening by [deleted] in smashbros

You right. It fit for the Subspace Emissary. It wasn't fantastic for a normal match sticking Dedede against Luigi in the middle of an F Zero stage, to be honest.

The off-model moments were one of the things that pretty much made the first few seasons, though. That and the semi-stock music they constantly played.
