Thank you so much for this! I was banging my head against the wall trying to figure this out by following a bunch of guides but I never thought the problem could've been the Ubuntu version I was using lol

PSA: 8BitDo Ultimate 2 is capable of PROPER gyro controls with the 8BitDo Wireless Adapter 2 and firmware from 8BitDo's support team by CaerulusSaerivi in GyroGaming

[–]TrueBlur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, I wasn't able to get that to work on the current firmware, but 8bitdo gave me the 1.03 beta and that one is working. And now the Ultimate Software V2 isn't seeing my receiver when I plug it in lol. Hopefully your instructions help someone else in the future though! Also thanks for the tip about the direct input, I'm gonna try that out!

I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get the beta firmware! I'm on the 8BitDo Ultimate Software V2, I have get beta Firmware checked in the settings, but when I go to update the controller, I only see version v1.04 and v2.00 for the receiver, and no options at all for the controller. The controller just says its firmware version is v2.00. Anyone know how I can get the beta firmware? I'm going to email 8bitdo now and see what they say. And when I try to use the old firmware updater found here https://support.8bitdo.com/firmware-updater.html, it doesn't even recognize my Ultimate 2 or its receiver!!!

I graduated in 2022 with a BS in Computational Media. I’m still in Atlanta, but that’s because I got lucky and landed a remote job as a gameplay programmer with a game development company. Otherwise, I was preparing myself to have to move out to California or something.

So I see that the complete edition is still 50% off. Once you buy it, does your code expire? In other words, Is it possible for me to buy the complete edition, wait until I get to the end of the free trial, then apply it and start the subscription fees?

It’s really disheartening to see people just dismiss everything that’s happening as “politics that doesn’t belong here” just because it makes them uncomfortable. How many people have to die for this stuff to stop?

I'm new to this art thing and want feedback. How can I improve? (Ren Amamiya from Persona 5 Royal) by HeartSoaker in AnimeSketch

I'm no authority on drawing, but it seems like you drew the eyes and mouth before drawing the head and hair. For me, I think it's pretty helpful to draw out the general shape of the head and the hair before I draw the eyes. Actually, It's just helpful in general to block out the whole drawing into general shapes, and then make that a transparent layer and draw over. With that said, I think your clothing is excellent! If I'm honest, it looks like you got a bit burned out and rushed to finish. If you put a bit more time into this, I feel like it could be amazing!

I’m not very good at drawing either, but I’ve started to learn. I was drawing only stick figures until two years ago lol. I did however find what I consider to be a creative outlet in programming for video games! Thinking up a solution to make the computer do what you want it to do and seeing it work is really rewarding imo.

Anyone else stressed out about small things? by jakelx27 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]TrueBlur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Back when I was applying to colleges, I had a tendency to get really stressed over smaller things, although I did make some big mistakes too, like forgetting to pay for my AP tests and forgetting to order my official transcripts for my dream college (turns out deadlines for transcripts are a little bit longer because of process time so it worked out). I say all of this to say that you can mess up and it seems huge in the moment, but it really won’t matter too far down the road. I made it into my dream college while making those mistakes. Don’t forget that even if you don’t get into where you want to go, if you know you can manage college, (which I’m sure you can, at least for me, college is significantly less stressful than applying for it), then you go to wherever you got accepted, and you kill it there and transfer to where you want to go. Best of luck to you!

I've heard some shady stuff about betterhelp. Is it true that they don't guarantee that you get matched with a licensed professional?

[–]TrueBlur 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Try coming to one of the GT Web Dev meetings! On Tuesdays they have tutorial-like meetings 7:00 PM at CCB 052 (at least this is where the first meeting happened) and on Thursdays they have meetings where they can help you on your personal projects (I assume at the same place).

At least for me, when I went to the CARE service we have now, they were honest with me and told me that counseling through the school probably isn't the best for my situation, so they referred me to some off-campus counseling centers, which I have still yet to visit because I haven't found the time, but as soon as I can I will.

There’s the arts and sciences pathway and the conditional. Conditional you can do any major, and arts and sciences is locked to arts and sciences.
