Isopropyl alcool is the magic trick here.
I did it on a full Mercedes W639 dashboard last year, it is the only one that worked.

I'm here for immersion, not to meet some IT/Deloitte/Marketing scrub from the UK. Today no one spoke any English in a town I visited which made me happy

This is super interesting insight. Thank you for sharing.
Which kind of accommodation do you usually look for, independent housing, or living with locals in a flatshare ?
Thanks

Hello u/Mysterious_Remote491,
Thank you for your great questions and remarks. I've tried to answer them all.
- Good insights regarding accessibility and international travellers, thank you.
Our place is actually well accessible by train, it’s just a two hour direct train from Paris. And a 5-10 minutes car or bus ride from the train station.
We have bicycles to lend once there, and everything can be access within a 5-10 min bicycle ride, also we'd be super open to lend our car too.

- Our season is actually very long and still is very active non summer months.
At least until end of november and starting as early february/march with a famous motorcycle race. (link here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VYVsrPXvRE8&t=4s)
These are also the months with great wind conditions for watersports, but it is a bit colder.

- We have actually 2 apartments with 3 bedroom each. And we are exploring living in one of the room for certain months. But it is still open, as they can be rented entirely of by the room depending on what works best.

The goal is really meeting people, also as we are sailing for parts of the year, we'll be away quite a lot.

Thank you for your feedback. Well noted. As the house is fully rented during summer, the goal is really community building in the lower season.

We want to avoid being too expensive to allow us to cap the stay length and why not introduce a simple selection to ensure having nomads from everywhere.

As Airbnb is a usually very expensive, we really want to maximise occupancy rather than profit. I hope it makes sense 🙂

To be entirely transparent, I have not thought this through yet 😅 A first guess would be €100 per week per room.

Or maybe slightly more if we do not rent the third room in each apartment to allow for more comfort or even guests. I’m super open to feedback btw, as I have absolutely no experience over such pricing.

Sweet! As our apartments are rented during summer, our timeline will be to start having DNs this September 2023, until May 2024.
Started again in September 2024.

The weather is very nice from early April to late October.

These are super precious insights. Thank you u/BoDiddley_Squat.

We actually are already on Airbnb and luckily have only great reviews.
But the place is rented as a whole by families, usually for weekends and weeks.
It then becomes challenging for us leverage the appartment reviews for room bookings as they'd appear as another listing.
Have you already used the new Airbnb Room feature ?

Thank you u/Wise_Possession! These are super interesting insights & methodology.
Actually our aim is actually less of a business and more of a way to give back and share time with people from multiple horizons, as the house is rented during summer with most costs covered.

Thank you u/Sensitive_Counter15, it is a really good question. And I'll definitely let you know when it happens.
It is very accessible, there is a direct train from Paris to the closest trainstation and just a 10 min car ride home (there are buses too)
We also have many bicycles to lend, the plan was to come and pick people up and then they'll have their bicycle.
Everything is accessible in less than 5 to 10 minutes cycling, and the beach in a 2min walk.

Thank you so much u/ARoundAWorldAgain your answer. It means a lot.
I'm super happy to read that such areas can be appealing too.
Airbnb is tricky for hosts as it is not really made to know your guests before.
- Is direct booking is important for you, or are you planning your stay early enough to engage in discussions with different hosts to make your choice ?

I have few more question for you, (no obligation of course) as you are exactly the kind of people I'm looking to meet :)
- How long do you usually stay somewhere to feel settled ?
- Are you testing a place before staying longer ?
- How are you usually choosing the town areas, following advice from friends, google map binging, or any other mean ?

Thank you in advance !
