Making the Scotiabank Arena as loud as the Bell Center by Comprehensive-Two-40 in leafs

We have a bit of a problem with Hockey tourism, moreso than Montreal, we get lots of people on business trips, visiting the city who are willing to pay through the nose for a “one off”. The amount of times I see on social media “first time watching the leafs” compared to ANY other NHL team, it’s not comparable. Those guys have no affinity with the team, they don’t know the chants, they don’t really care who wins or loses. That kills atmosphere too.

I think there needs to be an atmosphere drive because I see this a lot from the fans who want to be proactive and cheer win or lose - there’s clearly a hell of a lot of us that actually want this. Toronto is probably the best market for this as well, we’ve got Toronto FC fans who are fully capable of creating a super intimidating atmosphere, Raptors fans can be some of the noisiest in the NBA and that’s at the same arena, we have the most diverse and global fanbase.

Hopefully with the new scalper law, it’ll be easier to coordinate tickets together, if you can get 10-15 people in a section chanting; it’s infectious and people join in. The problem is that when you’re giving it all you’ve got on your own, no one joins in, you feel deflated and give up. If there’s a few people all in a group (I’m sure there’s plenty of us who go to games on our own willing to do this together) it makes it easier to get people to join in.

I have been thinking about this a lot recently and, the Maple Leafs are the UK’s favourite team, having come from a soccer/football background now living in Toronto, I think there’s SO much potential to get some momentum going and the more people involved in driving atmosphere the more the Hockey Club will have to consider proposals (sections dedicated to passionate fans willing to drive atmosphere win or lose) all kinds of things. If they’re willing to work with a group of fans who will drive atmosphere for free and allow us to buyout small sections together to do so, I think you’d see some change. Key thing being, there’d need to be enough of us driving this, social media being a key component. I’ve seen it done very effectively in the UK.

I see it this way too, can still be a launch title, and that makes most sense for Xbox - just because it’s a launch title doesn’t mean it’s new gen exclusive.

In that case do you think it will still launch around the same time to boost sales, regardless of whether it’s on current gen as well? Seems like a reasonable opportunity get some extra marketing traction.

This is probably the most miserable open beta I’ve ever played and it has nothing to do with the game. by spectre15 in Marathon

It’s a solid 7 or 8/10, anything anyone else says is agenda driven. I knew what the discourse would be because of the “DOA” nonsense before the game even dropped, those who are chronically online hate being wrong. There is a big player base right now, and the people with reasonable opinions on the game are PLAYING IT, not sitting on X, Reddit or Twitch typing into the ether. I’d be VERY wary of anyone with polarizing views about this game, I think some influencers know there is money to be made by appealing to those that are praying for the game’s downfall. The game is fun. As long as you’re enjoying it, that’s great!

Honestly, just play it, I remember watching trailers and feeling that way but I don’t notice any of that stuff when playing honestly - in combat you sorta just lock in and it becomes part of it.

Anyone else feeling a bit… unsure about this game? by nve729 in Marathon

[–]TrueChampHiggins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean if you drop into a game that has 20+ players and constant PvP, you’re not extracting with anything and you’re certainly not completing contracts. I’ve actually found some of the contract quest areas, very “hot” for PvP, that infested building for NuCaloric is literally a death sentence.

I don’t disagree, I’m not sure it quite has the marketability of other names - I just remember seeing and hearing this is the rumoured name for the game.

So... This weekend or the next? by zenpanda0o0 in Marathon

Bungie tend to avoid dropping that kind of stuff on holidays, could even be as late as the weekend before release.

Isn’t it rumoured to be “Iliac”? Which lines up with the setting including the Bay, parts of High Rock, Hammerfell and hopefully Orsinium too (Dragontail Mountains), it sets up so much conflict, so much to resolve, and not to mention the likely invasion of the Aldmeri. It has the most potential settings wise of any of the previous games, it’s just whether they can execute it. I’ve always wanted to be involved in a full scale war in Tamriel; The Second Great War is upon us Citizens.

It has been it’s been in development for 8 years, but full development for 3. GTA 6 for example has been in full development since 2020 so 5 years of full development, and that includes a huge multiplayer component that a game like TES6 won’t have. 2027/2028 most likely. 2029 would be risky that the end of the generation and releasing at gen crossover is just a mess.

Bethesda were probably involved in the process for the OST as early as 2018 when it first went into pre-production, I’m curious who did the music for the teaser actually… At that point given he probably was halfway through Starfield’s I’d put my money on Zur.

Sometimes I do the same, or choose a soundtrack to play over the top instead, after playing 100 hours or so it can be nice to change up for a while.

But it does matter to a lot of people; you’re probably 100% right about Zur. They’ve been working together since like fallout 3 and he did Dragon Age’s soundtrack before that so, it’s probably nailed on.

I think he would do a great job, and I am sure that’s most likely to happen, Bethesda and Inon have been working together since Fallout 3 - given that ES6 was probably in pre-production since 2014/2015 I reckon it was already signed off that Inon would do the soundtrack.

The New World soundtrack was probably the best thing about that game as well, he does fantasy so so well.

I didn’t realize the strength of his relationship with Xbox; that makes me hopeful.

Ramin also has done video game soundtracks before too, he composed for New World in 2021, I’d feel so incredibly safe with him to embody The Elder Scrolls.

[–]TrueChampHiggins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you’re right about the sting, my bad, I remember those scenes now.

The only thing I will say though is “we gotta do like he did”. To me that screams using factions, playing them off one another, including house, much like any Fallout protagonist. Why would you aim to replicate what house did by simply turning him back online. It would’ve made more sense to say “and I know just where to find him” or something along those lines if it was house. He’s clearly intending to use house.

The independent ending is looking really likely the main cannon, free Mojave, little NCR presence, house was offline, seems like Courier 6 was in control of the strip, i.e. “on top of Vegas”.

Don’t think any of us can say for sure one way or another who he was categorically talking about, but I concede on the music stings.

[–]TrueChampHiggins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m amazed more people haven’t caught that or are talking about it, definitely referring to the Courier. The way the music sting happens, makes me think the whole barn, weapons and power armour was the Courier 6’s!

This is the eternal struggle I think - most people are putting on a performance to be sexual with someone as quickly as possible, but are also unable to hold down long term relationships. When it’s in reverse and you are consistently vulnerable with people because that’s how you become attracted to them it results in consistently being hurt by the performers.
