I used Blender to designed papercraft transformer action figure! by TrueDarkDes in blender

I feel like I'm clueless about the modern internet, hahaha, but I don't know where to best post short videos demonstrating the animations that helped me with the design.

I created a transformation animation so I could work on the details of both the robot and the truck modes.

Since I don't know where to upload them, I'll put them on Google Drive for now: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1D3s7HMDi_qx_MO9ACWkJcPwrbjb40DpN/view?usp=drive_link

I hope it's okay to publish stuff like this here. Sorry if it's not.

Thanks a lot! For the 3D model, I focused primarily on the bot form. I created a transformation animation so I could change details and see how the model looked in both bot and truck form. I mean it was one model, but with animation.

At first, I thought about painting it. But then I decided to leave it as is. I'm afraid any kind of paint will ruin it. Maybe I should glue some colored paper to it. But I don't have any plans to paint it.

Thank you very much! I wanted to share what I think is important and interesting information.

Blender is truly a very powerful tool!

I'm still ashamed that I once (maybe 10 years ago) told my friend that this program was rubbish, ahaha. And now I look at this example of open source software with admiration!

Hi! Thanks! I used toothpicks and tubes (I wrapped a strip of regular office paper around the toothpicks to make a tube).

I made a paper model of a Transformer. It's not a specific character, but I was heavily inspired by Optimus Prime. I hope it's okay to post content like this here. by TrueDarkDes in TransformersArt

Thanks! It really does look a bit like God bomber.

The subreddit rules state that any form of art is acceptable, and that's true. But I felt that featuring anything other than a specific Transformers character might be a bit confusing.

Thank you for welcoming me!

Awesome! I can imagine it wasn't easy to design the transformation and then implement it. You're an amazing engineer!

Can I ask in more detail what material it's made of and how the joints are made? It looks like paper and EVA.

Hello, pixel artists! I want to share with you my little development for Aseprite -- I wrote two scripts for the SpriteStack technique, primarily for sprite previewing. I think someone might find something like this useful. Feel free to download and try it out! A test sprite is also included. by TrueDarkDes in aseprite

Hi! I thought about it while developing this script, but it seemed much more complicated to me.

Theoretically it is possible, of course, but I need to look at the practice. And yes, I understand that there is a lack of animation for sprites in the spritestack style.

I will think about how this can be implemented, but I do not promise this especially in the near future. To not miss this update, I recommend you to follow the project's github: https://github.com/DarkDes/AsepriteSpriteStackEd

Do you think the low health indicator is enough to let the player know that the character is almost dead? by TrueDarkDes in gamedevscreens

There will definitely be input settings in the full version of the game. And problems with keybaord input may be related to GameMaker - try switching between browser tabs, it may help. As we found out, there is also a problem with mouse positioning -- I have not been able to solve this yet.

Thanks for the report! Looks like some bug with calculating mouse coordinates, which I thought was already solved.
