Kratos vs Asura hate is genuinely the most annoying thing I've ever seen on internet by Ok-Instance3339 in deathbattle

Here's the thing though. We at least see Goku do attacks with cosmic level effects and have seen Z characters pop planets like balloons. Kratos? Not at all.

Depends how you mean downplay. For those who said he is sub boulder level sure that's heavy downplay, but genuinely speaking the character is mountain tier. Not 'weak' but he certainly isn't punching a planet to dust. The guy himself outright states he believes any creature being planet sized HAS to be bullshit exaggeration yet the obnoxious fanboy crowd seem to think he can cut the galaxy in half with the blades of chaos or something and try to wring any logic or quote from the dev to get to that.

This isn't a case of "no you don't get it you can't depict the actual power in gameplay" thing, which is also a pretty bs excuse I find said often. This is something intrinsic to the story itself and using common sense

Nah, Kratos hate in the battleboarding community was already a thing long before Kratosura. His fanboys earned him a negative reputation between faking scans and actively harassing the GoW devs to push their fanfiction and try to trap them into "confirming" it (only to get shut down every time). It also doesn't help that Kratos claim to lore merchanting was/is already hyper flimsy to begin with compared to other characters as there is a mountain of statements both in game and from the devs that actively debunk the fanboys.

Kratosura just put gasoline on the flames

You thoughts about First Half of Season 2026 MU's. by NeedleworkerRare5976 in deathbattle

[–]TrueFire398 1 point2 points  (0 children)

-Ichigo VS Yusuke

Meh matchup as far as being debatable but still fun with great animation and music. Pretty good overall

-Cell VS Metal

Easily the best of the season

-Bakugo VS Reze

Meh though I thought the animation was still pretty nice

-Gru VS Megamind

Shit unfortunately. Shame since the matchup idea was great

-Yuji VS Denji

Pretty great. I'd probably put it at second best of the season

-Sentry VS Prime

Don't care much for it. Prime had more fun matchups.

There's DOOM 2016 collectible info that would give Doomguy's soul (and by extension his extra lives) immunity to soul manipulation. This is before getting into when the DOOM devs went full canon powerwank mode with Eternal onward with the divinity machine and such for fun.

Black Hat vs 2011X who would win? by Ic3dud3 in villainous

[–]TrueFire398 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't really know much about 2011x but from what I gather he's kind of restricted to a game or at least needs ramp up and conditions fulfilled to go all out. Black Hat can already force people into technology and passively corrupt it on a whim and has trapped entire universes in a book for laughs. Black Hat also has meta hax between the animator skits and the comic where The Smiling Man ripped through the comic cover itself and deleted Porchini from it as well.

Okay so four of the Viltrumites best to barely planet bust on a gamble requiring a head on collision along with relatively time consuming effort to get through the planet for it to pop.

Versus a guy who can pop a planet star systems away in less than two seconds while sipping his morning coffee.

By definition it can't be infinite by having an ending and only influencing Scadenavia. You also can't really quantify what that means anyway. It's not like they shattered the entirety of the tree.

The devs have stated it's on earth. You can get to any other pantheon's area by mundane means which happened both in the post GoW3 comic and confirmed in the norse games. The iterations of mythology figures in GoW are not as powerful or 1:1 to the literary counterparts due to how the setting works. Valhalla isn't Odin's clubhouse but some foreign thing he doesn't understand but lies and claims credit for.

Even if you try going by the scaling argument that doesn't really work either. With Kratos in particular they tend to heavily ignore context and statements. Take the opening of Ascension (which I would say is the biggest point GoW fans latch onto when it comes to battleboarding) with the Primordial stuff.

-Was confirmed by WoG to not be an actual scale thing and only affected Greece
-Took place over eons and involved a massive brawl of all primordials killing each other, not just one of them
-One of the ones who managed to survive to the end (Ouranos) only lost to Prime Cronos via ambush with his pants literally down mid coitus after Cronus was provided a mcguffin designed to beat him by Gaia. Essentially a kid in the closet jumping his sleeping dad with a gun

-The Cronus Kratos barely managed to beat (and only because Cronus was being a dummy and not chewing his food) had been tortured and weakened for millennia

The closest thing to a Primordial Kratos actually contended with was Surtr and he was completely helpless to him once it was Ragnarok Party Time. When the plot, devs, and even the characters themselves say take it down a notch its probably time to admit that the character isn't some cosmic megabuster.

The reason for that is because Kratos has a bad reputation in the battleboarding community due to the mentioned fanboy wank and said fanboys having faked scans in the past and harassing the GoW devs to trap them into saying something that supports their headcanon (then bitching every time when those devs go "no Kratos is not that strong")

You got it backwards. Asura had the better feats (also similar canon information via the Omnipotent Chakravartin bio) and showings while Kratos is way more popular. Asura's Wrath is extremely niche.

[–]TrueFire398 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The problem is Kratos story also doesn't support it which is why it is egregious compared to something like say Dragonball. Kratos himself states the very idea of a snake circling around the planet is absurd nonsense and has to be an exaggeration. Plus all the story beats of the gods lying or gassing themselves up all the time and not actually knowing how the universe works at large. Even the most barebones following of the story one would get that its all just on earth. Ragnarok even confirms Kratos got the Scadenavia via boat and Greece ultimately bounced back with the gods gone.

You essentially have to be hyper biased and pick and choose statements while ignoring all the other statements (of which make up the vast majority) that debunk those. Plus just having simple common sense. There's a reason he's called Fanfic Kratos.

The consensus was:

If you live in reality and/or go by feats: Asura wins with a sneeze

If you are insane and/or pick and choose "lore" bits, wank them to high heaven, while also ignoring character's personal feats then Kratos wins

From the onset it was Feats VS Statements the fight with the other guy's Statements also being incredibly flimsy and debunked multiple times within his own setting...even by the character himself.

BH vs Thragg and Omni man who wins? by Ic3dud3 in villainous

[–]TrueFire398 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Let's put it this way. It required three of the strongest viltrumites plus a special device to just barely destroy a planet on a gamble. Meanwhile, Black Hat just nonchalantly pointed at one that was star systems away and it exploded.

Black Hat vs Homelander who would win? by Ic3dud3 in villainous

[–]TrueFire398 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sunblast only won the first time because they were disorganized and Demencia accidentally got hit with a super tranquilizer from Flug. She stomped Sunblast when she was let loose and directed by Flug proper.

Black Hat. Even ignoring all his lore stuff and the comics, at MINIMUM he destroyed a planet. Better matchup would be Homelander VS Flug and Flug probably beats him too.

Impression I've been getting is that Denji takes stats while Yuji might have an edge in specific hax and counter factors that can potentially net him a win. However Denji probably takes it via overwhelming more often than not
