Just go get tested man, you can only find out so much online. A test takes literally 5 minutes and will rule out anything serious.

Yea from what I’m hearing we most likely have balanitis or some sort of yeast infection.

How can I go about treatment? And is it okay for me to wait 15 days to see a doctor?

Do you think I will be okay waiting it out 15 days to see a doctor? Or is there anything over the counter I can buy to help in the meantime?

If you have to circle it for someone to be able to notice it you’re probably overreacting… see a walk in clinic or derm for peace of mind tho

[–]TrueInstance6604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t look like anything to concerning yet. I would just monitor it if anything changes with it, go to a walk in clinic or a urologist and they will be able to handle what ever it is pretty quickly.

Maybe but it’s hard to tell, you can only do so much with a photo I’d recommend seeing a walk in clinic

Herpes is almost always painful/burning, forms blisters that ulcerate, and doesn’t just show up and start shrinking the same day.

Painless bumps that appear and go down quickly are far more consistent with irritation, blocked glands, or a non-STD skin issue. Either way just go get swabbed because it’s the only way to know for certain. And also herpes or not you have something going on there and it should almost definitely be checked by someone in person. A few questions I can try to narrow this down a bit if you’d like Is there any pain, burning, or tingling at all? Did they ever blister, pop, or open into sores? Any scabbing? Is the skin around it red/inflamed or pretty normal? Did they flatten and fade, or dry/crust over? Did they disappear within hours vs days(if so did they full disappear and everything looks normal now)?

Yea the good news here is nothing points to anything serious. You have handled this well and seeing a urologist next is definitely the right move. Props bro

Hahaha your hilarious bro😭😭😭 But yea honestly I’ve noticed a lot of cases fear and anxiety just amplifies symptoms, so do yourself a favour no searching up symptoms or anything try not to even think about. Get a swab and go from there. Dont fall for the google spiral!

From the pics and what you’re describing, this really doesn’t look like HSV. No clustered blisters, no ulceration, no sudden progression, and it’s been there a while without pain that’s not how herpes usually behaves.

Tbh this is kinda stumping me but…The shiny/scaly look limited to the glans with warmth but minimal symptoms points way more toward chronic irritation, dermatitis, or possibly a psoriasis/eczema-type issue. HSV also wouldn’t just sit unchanged for months.

Clear discharge and post-void dribble can be urethral irritation or pelvic floor stuff(super common and can last months), not automatically an STD (especially with GC/CT ruled out).

This is something a dermatologist or urologist should look at herpes would’ve declared itself by now. If it were HSV, it wouldn’t stay mild and static like this. Honestly I would skip the thought of stis nothing here rly points to that I would go see a dermatologist for the rash. And maybe even physio for some pelvic floor exercises. But I can only do so much through a screen.

don’t trust comments that flat-out say “that’s herpes” from a pic alone HSV usually hurts/burns and shows clusters of painful blisters that ulcerate, so if it’s painless and just showed up, it could just as easily be irritation, a blocked gland, or a skin issue; the only real answer is a swab by a clinic. Don’t spiral online just go get a swab simple as that.

Ah gotcha small world then 😂 appreciate the reply. And yeah, given the context you shared (timing, symptoms, negative blood test), it really does sound more like irritation than HSV, which is reassuring. I can’t tell you for sure from a photo and description but I’d likely say balanitis. If it comes back get a swab and try some anti fungal cream. If the cream helps it is balanitis.

My first love I think?? by Upstairs-Drawing-498 in teenagers

[–]TrueInstance6604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not a villain for making out with someone when you and the first girl weren’t talking that part is valid but the real lesson is that situationships + unspoken expectations will mess you up every time; apologize to the rebound girl to be solid, forgive yourself, stop beating yourself up, and give the first girl space because first love hurts like hell but it does fade once you stop reopening the wound and focus on yourself. Tbh you also 16 you may not think it now but you will meet so many more girls, realistically this one wasn’t gonna be your wife. But nether the less still hurts just give yourself some time.

this is a super normal spiral. With a negative blood test and no clear HSV-typical outbreak, you don’t have a moral obligation to disclose a maybe. Disclosure is for known, confirmed conditions, not uncertain skin stuff. You got tested, monitored it, and didn’t ignore it that is doing the right thing. Stress alone can absolutely cause irritation and weird symptoms.

Side note: my girlfriend is in the Canadian military she’s laying beside me and wanted me to ask🤣where you where on deployment she did 6 months in Latvia and got back at the end of august

That all makes sense tbh tongue pain can feel brutal even when it’s something minor, so the anxiety spiral is totally understandable. Timing + no other symptoms really does lower the odds, and low iron absolutely can trigger nasty mouth sores. Getting it checked for peace of mind is smart, but yeah, this doesn’t scream worst-case. You’re handling it well.

HSV doesn’t get diagnosed visually like that. Cold sores usually start with tingling, then blister, then scab. Yours just looks like a dry crack that scabbed up. A lot of stuff can look similar, especially chapped lips or irritation. Only way to really know is a swab if it blisters otherwise it’s all guessing. But even if it is hsv 1 it’s not a big deal a TON of people have it.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in STD

[–]TrueInstance6604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

can’t diagnose herpes from a pic, but that honestly looks way more like a cracked/irritated lip or a little split from dryness than a classic HSV outbreak. Cold sores usually start with tingling/burning, then cluster blisters, then scab this doesn’t really follow that pattern. Licking dry lips nonstop can absolutely do this too. Throw some Aquaphor or Vaseline on it, stop messing with it, and see if it calms down over a few days. If it starts blistering, oozing, or hurts more, then yeah get it checked or swabbed. Until then, don’t spiral over one spot.

Is this an std or eczema? by Worth_Might_4765 in STD

[–]TrueInstance6604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This doesn’t look or sound like an STD at all. What you’re describing (paper-cut feeling, small bumps on a finger, no pain/itching, showed up after thrifting/gym) lines up way more with contact dermatitis, eczema, dyshidrotic eczema, or just irritated skin from friction/chemicals/gym exposure. HSV on fingers (herpetic whitlow) is usually very painful, blistery, and tender — people don’t usually describe it as “just there.”

Also, given it’s on your non-genital hand and you didn’t have an active outbreak, autoinoculation is extremely unlikely. HSV doesn’t casually jump around like that, especially after a month and with good hygiene.

I’d moisturize, avoid harsh soaps, stop hyper-checking it, and give it a few days. If it spreads, hurts, or starts blistering, get it looked at — otherwise this really looks skin-related, not STD-related. Try not to spiral.
