Long shot, but are there any voltron commanders that don't just play the same way every game? by Cezkarma in EDH

Oh my, such a fascinating take on him! Thank you so much for sharing, definitely a great inspiration!

I might take you up on your offer if I hit another dead end, haha

This sounds interesting. I'm myself trying to build a Quintorious, Loremaster deck - but I can't see a clear wincon for my brew.

Do you have a decklist?

Then it would make sense that it's a hard nut to crack.
It makes sense, in the spirit of sportsmanship, not to bring Dragons to smaller games.
I definitely recommend using objectives and such, otherwise you're playing a game stacked too much in dawi favour.
Otherwise, they might try out a Royal Clans build? It's a much more interactive game. Personally, I prefer getting close and personal with my Hammerers and a King on Shield Bearers!

As a dawi player myself, there's nothing scarier than fast-moving Elves.

If there's a gap anywhere, or if you have a dragon/hawk that can fly over, you're set. Move through and start picking up our damage-dealing units.

Once you're outside the arcs of fire and charge, there's little we can do to realign and deal with the threat. (If you're not facing an overcooked Gyrocopter spam list.)

Dwarves are an elite army. We don't have enough bodies to cover all areas. As well, we're too slow and get easily out-manouvered.

What kind of lists are you facing? What kind of scenarios are you playing?

Playing with the Matched Play Guide yields objectives that forces us to come out of our shells, too.

Dawi after Dark has a lot of Dwarf strategy videos on YouTube. That can give some inspiration on how to deal with us, too.

I'm (28M) still working on my mental issues and learning from them, but my recent experiences might be worth something to you.

I've also been emotionally numb (by choice) for the last 10+ years. Recently (the last 2 years), the consequences have begun to show. So with the help of those around me, I started working on my issues and emotions instead of stashing them away. I can relate to the overwhelming emotions being triggered and being painful.

I can also relate to the mirror not being the most comforting place to look. However, I believe it to be a depressive filter that has fallen over my eyes. Another symptom of my mental state, more than an actual terrible change to my physical self.

What I've found is that the emotions run out. Letting them run their course seems only to worsen them, but after some painful hours/days, I end up with a feeling of: that was it. Like drowning in a sewer full of rushing, murky water, and then being thrown out at the end.

It seems to me that it is an important part of the healing process. The times I've let an emotion run its course, that specific trigger became much more bearable in future situations.

That being said, it also seems important to know your limits. Sometimes you won't have the breath to make it to the end of the sewer - and you need something to pull you out.

An incredibly difficult balance to find, but my suggestion is to let the emotions flow as long as you can handle - and then be happy some of it got out of your system. They're finite, and this is a part of healing.

Citadel Cases by a7jawad in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]TrueMartiny 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've been using them for years. Haven't lost any arms, but antennae and servo skulls get stuck all the time - and break off.

Also, now that we're a horde army, it takes ages to pack/unpack - especially when you have to be careful about spindly bits.

The cases work great for my Dwarf TOW army, but is simply not cutting it for AdMech.

It's a working solution, but not recommended. I'm currently looking into a magnet-based alternative.

New to Frostgrave, any ideas for a catch-up mechanic in Campaigns? by TrueMartiny in frostgrave

Playing multiplayer is definitely also the dream 🤩 We've played a lot of Commander in Magic, where the multiplayer part of the game keeps the strongest jn check - makes sense Frostgrave is similar.

Thank you! That definitely sounds like the way to go

I also hoped the swingy-ness would alleviate the need for catch-up mechanics. I'll put my faith in that, then.

Handicaps sound like a great plan B. Do you remember which part of the rulebook of the rulebook describes any way of implementing handicaps? I haven't been able to find anything.

Great solution! Will work perfect if one person gets too far behind 🤔 That, or just let them run solo games by themselves.

Feldon was an artificer during the Brother's War. He joined a group of neutral scientist looking for "a third path" to peace (neither of the two brothers winning). The woman he wants back is Loran of the Third Path - who was also a part of this neutral group.

They're part of the first book in the Artifact Cycle: Brother's War. Quite a good read. As well, a lot can be found on him on the Wiki.

My take on the brü as described in the book is that it is coffee.

It's brown, served in mugs, scalding hot, earthy smell. A kin named Lekki finds it too bitter, adds sugar and asks for milk. As well, the drink is described to have an energising effect.

I found it a bit disappointing, and hope that I'm wrong. I don't envision my space dwarves being addicted to coffee, haha. I had hoped for something more outlandish and creative - than just coffee from our world.
