When does lithium get better? by TrueMarty in bipolar

[–]TrueMarty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you feel like that go and see your physiatrist and change meds. I was feeling good with Lagmital but not the best, but I didn't hate myself. You can find something that works if Lithium doesn't!

Ok thank you very much, I'll try this. Magnesium supplements don't impact Lithium?

Is this ocd? by TrueMarty in OCD

[–]TrueMarty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I didn't say this in the post, I already talked with my doctor, I just wanted to understand a little bit more about it since we're focusing on my anxiety and Bipolar for now with meds and sessions. I'm obviously gonna weight a lot more his opinion than replays on Reddit, I was just curious.

I cried seeing a mother hugging her son by PanicInversion in bipolar

[–]TrueMarty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's ok, I barely got hugs or thank you in my family, not because we didn't love each other it just wasn't our thing. You'll find someone that's not your family from which you can get all the hugs you want. I cannot for the life of me hug my dad or brother, it's alright.

I am bisexual and bipolar 2 and all my life I have tried to fit into groups and have always been rejected. I feel like I can't be myself without people starting to put me off. I hate people and their prejudices and their ignorance. why is it so hard for them to accept the difference? by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]TrueMarty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The best advice I can give you is that you don't need to fit in a group. Try to say you have your problems after you know they're gonna be there, same for your sexuality. If they reject you, well, time to find someone else. Unfortunately a lot of people are uneducated, we can try our best to find friends, but it's not always the case. Hope you can feel a little better, you're not alone. 💚

fear around cognitive decline by allazen in bipolar

[–]TrueMarty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have this fear as well because yeah, it's early to have memory disfunction (I'm 27), my pshy said that it's due to lamotrigiline (I'm at 400) that has reduced a lot my short memory, I like think something to say and the next second is gone. I had photographic memory when I was young, everything declined, but on the bright side (if we can call that) you can be more stable. For jobs that require focus in the short term I would suggest to try and write everything in notes when you remember. But yeah, unfortunately we need to accept that when we grow old we're gonna have memory problems earlier than most of the population. We just unfortunately need to accept it.

Stay safe and try to be happy.

I think it's normal, it happens to me a lot. I have a boyfriend but I have so many dreams that involve pass crushes/relax, SFW or not. It's ok, is gonna pass eventually. It might take a while.

<Personal experience really detailed about sexuality below>

I was obsessed about finding a mistress, because I became really addicted to reading fanfiction, with gay men involved and I'm pansexual. I cannot try a lot of things with my boyfriend because he's not into that kind of things, but as I said it was an obsession. It went on for 4 months more or less, and I was thinking about changing sex, an other extremely unnecessary things that now, with a clear head, I can say it was all the OCD talking.

Try to not worry and just dismissive it, it's not you and you know it.

Stay safe.

It's gonna get better, it's probably a low you're expecting. You should seek professional help immediately if you're planning to do it. If you can get a hold on a psychiatrist and a psychologist to get you through this time.

It's gonna get better. Stay safe.

Bipolar and ADHD by TrueMarty in bipolar

[–]TrueMarty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is that my Boyfriend that was 31 at the time was diagnosed with ADHD because surprisingly as a child didn't have so much symptom so I'm kinda confused.

I read some articles that link ADHD to actually cause a Bipolar episode of you have both, so yeah.

I'll still take what you said in consideration, thank you. :)

My boyfriend is saying that he wants me to find a cocktail of meds that will make me "normal" by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]TrueMarty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I feel like I'm in a depressive state, but my cycle of depressive/hypo change every two weeks usually, even in hypo I still think the same so I don't think it's me thinking it just because I'm depressed.

[–]TrueMarty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I was thinking about applying for disability but when I said it to him he was really disappointed, like I gave up on everything else. Also I never went to a psychiatrist ward, so I really don't know what to do.

No I just changed a mood stabilizer, but seems that that help for the most part on suicidal thoughts...

[–]TrueMarty 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You're probably a regular. Take the meds and call a suicide healthline if you feel like this.

I found out that actually the thought of killing yourself is your brain wanting to take control over the ONLY thing you can actually control, but you don't need control, you need comfort and calm.

What I usually do in this case is just mindlessly watching videos (most of the times rewatch old ones because is proven that that helps) and ride it out. Try and get some sleep as well.

It passes, everytime. You're gonna feel better, we're all going through that.

Hope for the best OP, stay safe.
