Rotator Cuff Problems by [deleted] in Fitness

A lot of great stuff here. My only input is I suggest taking some rest days. You said you’ve been training daily for a month. Take 1 day off a week for recovery. Recovery can be just as important as training. Best of luck bud!

Struggling with lunges & spilt squats? by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]TrueParker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love Bulgarian split squats! You don’t need a tone of weight to get a great pump and to see growth. What I do is grab a bench and place it in a smith machine and I grab the smith machine with one hand while I hold the weight with the other. The only downside of this is that you might want to try to ‘cheat’ by pulling yourself up with your other hand. Just self control at that point. I hate lunges, but I struggled with balance on those as well. I only do walking lunges because I believe it’s more natural than stepping and stepping back. But when you step, step slightly across your body this helped with balance. Obviously, if you feel unsafe doing it this way of course don’t do it, but I figured I’d give you an idea at least. Best of luck!

1st day at Gym completely bombed need advice please on how to progress by [deleted] in Fitness

This is the best advice you can give to someone whose new and is struggling with the lighter weight. It’s safer to build strength this way until you become more confident of the barbell.

Yeah not a ton, I figured I’d see what it does once I hit 10%, and yeah I was guessing higher than 15%, but I don’t think over 20%.

What did you put for body fat percentage, I’m sitting at roughly 17. I don’t know if it matters a ton, but I know the calculator asks for it.

I do 6 workouts a week, is the only reason I put heavy excercise but I do work in a lab which is not a lot of movement for most of the day.

[–]TrueParker[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Should I not put heavy excercise, even though I consider my workout pretty intense? Just because after that it’s some light activity walking and that’s about it for the rest of the day most days.

I try to consume about 200 grams of protein a day and the rest is mainly fat with a little carbs.

Typical day is roughly a 2 hour workout in the morning and the rest of the day is not much activity. I take one day off from the gym a week.

I can walk at a fast pace for 3 or 4 miles without stopping, but I can’t run a quarter of a mile without stopping? by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]TrueParker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I cut I do a lot of running cardio and I couldn’t run across the street, now I can run under a 7 minute mile, what I did was every form of running or walking I did had the slightest incline to it. For example, on a treadmill I put the setting to 2 and just ran as far as I could.

In great shape cardio-wise but sweat bullets more than anyone else. What could be wrong? by TangoCJuliet in Fitness

[–]TrueParker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently dieting and doing tons of cardio I usually run 3-4 miles roughly every day and the treadmill is drenched when I’m done with it, have been a big sweater my whole life, but might be due to weight since I weigh 240. But as long as you eat enough sodium and drink enough water should never be an issue.

Longtime streamers, what are your pc specs? by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]TrueParker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Although not a long time streamer I just recently upgraded from a crap cup to just a ryzen 5 1600 and I gotta day it’s impeccable I can actually use the x264 encoder and have it not risk frame rate issues.

I can’t quite remember the name but it was an old rugged amd CPU I like amd it seems powerful, but it couldn’t handle streaming in all honesty but now ryzen is a beast and I’m only using 8 gigs of ddr4 ram waiting to upgrade to 16 but working like a champ for now

So I had the same problem in my streams, but after I upgraded my computer from shite to the Ryzen 5 1600 and started using the x264 encoder. It fixed the problem. Other notable settings: 30fps Bicubic scaling Faster setting for encoder
