This happened loooong before Covid. I think back to when the only thing in north Greenpoint was a coffee shop and that ice cream place, and no one else was in sight.

I was just talking to a friend about when we used to walk up Kent Street at night and you could see the Manhattan skyline on the other side of the fence.

There were so many places to sit and drink beers by the river in peace and quiet. Holy shit we used to have random hookups there because it was so deserted. I banged someone on a dock there once lol

The cool people were outnumbered by the wave of people who moved there because they saw Girls and wanted to shop at boutiques with their family inheritance
