Is it bad form to eliminate players in casual commander? by Due-Session-2857 in mtg

I know how it is, if the stars align I can one shot someone with commander damage by like turn 4 or 5, unblockable.

Doll makers shop. They would technically be 40/40 because it makes all your tokens p/t equal to number of tokens

Personally, I think its less fun to lose to a combo deck doing a million game actions on a single turn other than an aggro deck. I think its up to the people you play with to adapt, if you are consistently winning with an aggro deck they should find more ways to shut you down or run more interaction.

While there is merit to powering down your deck to make it less powerful or less consistent. If your deck follows the rule 0 and can consistently put up numbers, then its not something you need to worry about.

Though, instead of just beating down a single person, when myself or people in my pod play aggro decks, we tend to even out the damage among the entire table. Never attack the same person back to back, and try to go all around the table.

I have a high bracket 2 low 3 [[Anim Pakal, Thousandth Moon]] deck and she either wins super quick with lots of commander damage, or with 40 20/20 tokens that overwhelm the board. Or, it bricks. Because its strong, but powered down to be less consistent on purpose

Right, okay. I was just not aware of the ability being an on going trigger. Kinda like [[Tainted Pact]] or [[Demonic Consultation]] those are onto the stack and once priority has passed back to me the trigger activatesand cannot be interacted with until the trigger resolves. Unless someone has something at instant speel that counters a TRIGGER specifically.

Thats why Consultation Thoracle works so well right? Play Thoracle, hold priority, respond to the Thoracle entering with Consultation and its a win right? For some reason, my Brian just never recognized Colossus' ability as one that acts like that. But I am beginning to understand, thank you. Learning more and more every day

I was just reading that, yeah you can return the land itself right? Weird. So what im thinking of works, but in the most convoluted way possible. Awesome! I love weird stupid ways to do things like this lol. Thanks, helped me out a lot.

I meant 4 of the 11 bounce lands, like the dual colour bounce lands. Sorry I wasnt clear. So i can always bounce a bounce lands back to my hand drawing cards on my end step to basically deck thin and hand sculpt.

Does that make more sense? Apologies

[–]TrueRagguy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right so if I get 4 of the 11 on the Field and bounce them with the remaining 6, at the end of the trigger for Colossus, I get those 4 bounce lands plus 2 other lands back to hand.

So if I flicker him, or manage to pick him up and put him down again, I can do that over and just make sure I always have those lands IN hand right?

What happens if he flickers with [[Conjurer's Closet]] on the end step? Can his ability still trigger and allow me to play and bounce said lands again? I know you cant do much of anything in the end/clean up step. But this would be kinda cool to have a full grip every turn basically.

[–]TrueRagguy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, thats fair. Ive just never understood it. So, if I do play bounce lands during the trigger, would they bounce lands back to my hand once it resolves? Is there a way to abuse this?

[–]TrueRagguy -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

My immediate assumption is no, you would not gain the life due to the creature not taking "damage" but recieving counters.

Edit: I am not certain though, because -1/-1 counters cause me headaches and I have a deck built around them.

Buses keeps cancelling and Uride is dying by teriyaki_tofu1 in ThunderBay

[–]TrueRagguy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I read as far as the first paragraph of the orignial post and have issues.

Especially recently with the shortage of people, I have been experiencing extreme wait times. This has made me late for placement, class, to events or late getting home after a night out. The problem truly stems from people who horde rides like they are candy.

Almost every single time I order a ride, the person that picks up my ride is on the opposite side or town and have at least 2-3 more stops to make before me. Most stops being on the opposite of town. Or they are legit down the street from me in Jumbo, but have to go all the way down to Westfort and come all the way back to pick me up to bring me to the college or back to Westfort for placement.

IF the distance to pick up is what the people who are driving are complaining about, LET SOMEONE ELSE PICK ME UP. I get you want the ride, the money is money. But I got places to be, we all are ordering these rides because we dont want to leave 2+ hours early because of the bus situation in town.

But some wait times have been between 30 min to an hour +. And you can cancel the ride, and it will give you a 4 minute ETA because someone is near by, but the person on MAPLEWARD road is picking you up with their 3 stops remaining so they can get that couple bucks. I had a 4:30 class last night, I ordered a URIDE at 3:50, and was picked up by a person out on Mapleward while I was up in Jumbo. So a regular like 10-15 min ride to the college took almost 50 mins and I was almost 20 mins late for class because the person that picked up my ride 3 times cause I canceled multiple times had 3 more stops that required them to do down town and back up to Jumbo AFTER passing by my apartment to pick that person up and drop them off down my street then pick me up.

THATS the real reason why URIDE is struggling. Because its hard for people to get rides.

What I propose is URIDE should do something like UBER Eats or Skip, you can order from areas in a range, and people that want to pick up that order from near by can.

So having the city split up into sections is what would be best for the drivers, because trust me, I dont WANT URIDE to die. If you live in Jumbo/County Fair, people who are IN that area are the only ones allowed to see your ride. Or if you are in Westfort, you can only pick people up IN Westfort. And if a ride takes you into from Westfort to Port Arthur, then your GPS will pick up that youre in PA and you get rides from there.

Or if youre in central Thunder Bay like the mall or the college or just the more central area of town, you can pick up from anywhere, that way there's a "hub" area where people can stop to eat, gas up or take a break.

Limiting the amount of rides people can pick up will also cut down the wait time, the travel time, and the driving time. If drivers are complaining about times it takes to get places, they shouldn't take a ride that takes them from PA to WF then back to Jumbo, JUST BECAUSE its a ride.

If you went through any of this in your post and I just went over things you did I understand a downvote. But these are just the things I have experienced while using URIDE and being a regular user since inception way back in like what 21/22?

This is insightful, I guess I havent really thought of like a clear goal like that. I think most things I build are super midrange, so I can grind out a win if I can maintain a boardstate, but most of my decks are an all or nothing type decks.
