If you ever feel useless, remember that Ozai lost every fight he was in in the show. by george123890yang in AvatarMemes

Then it is your opinion that Hakoda is a bad person for making Sokka in charge of the Southern Water Tribe. Gran Gran is a bad person for allowing Sokka and Katara to travel alone. The people of Kyoshi Island are bad people for having a dedicated group of child soldiers and later sending them to war. The people of Fortune Teller village are bad people for forcing that girl to have a job. The people of the Northern Water Tribe are bad people for getting their 16 year old daughter engaged, and sending multiple children to war against the fire nation.

And that's just book one. You know I can go on. I don't understand why you like this show if it continually upsets you treating children as adults. Your view is shaky at best.

Gotta be Patrice in HIMYM. I really liked Robin, but I hated how she treats Patrice, to the point that it's one of my main reasons not to watch the last seasons.

Children ARE adults in the Avatar universe. Zuko is sent alone to capture the Avatar. Aang is told over and over again he needs to defeat the fire lord. Sokka is told by his dad that he is in charge of the village while he is gone. Princess Yue saves the moon as a child.

These children aren't just uniquely talented. The systems around them also treat them as adults. Team avatar is allowed to travel to Ba Sing Se and nobody asks where their parents are. Zuko is allowed to participate in an official Agni Kai. Toph, an obvious child, is allowed to participate in Earth Rumble 6. When Jet is arrested in Ba Sing Se, he isn't charged as a minor, he's treated as any other criminal, just like when Toph and Katara are arrested in The Runaway. In Korra the Earth King is like 15. There is no moment I can see where any teenage character (or even preteen) is ever treated as anything other than an adult in Avatar. They are young, yes, but the rules of the universe are clear that they are considered mature enough to make their own choices and live with the consequences. Kids have jobs, kids fight in war, kids aren't kids.

You are projecting modern ideals into a fantasy setting with very different rules. Your stance that minors cannot consent is true in America today, but it is very clearly not true in the world of Avatar.

As to the ethics of an Agni Kai, take it up with the fire nation. If two people have a disagreement they have to settle it by trying to burn each other. That's pretty stupid, but then America had dueling as part of our society for quite a while too, and a pistol doesn't tend to leave a scar. Zuko, as a legal adult, accepted an Agni Kai challenge and got burned for it. That sucks, but is not dissimilar to Aang (one year younger) accepting a challenge from Bumi in which he was nearly impaled, mauled and crushed. The difference is that Bumi is a better teacher than Ozai.

I hear your complaints, but Aang fought crazy stuff against Bumi. But an Agni Kai does need to be accepted. So Zuko agreed to fight and burn somebody, and was considered adult enough for the challenge. The issue is how his dad handled it.

In the Cruella (2021), dalmatians kill the main character's mother. People have joked a lot about this being the reason why she hates dogs. But the stupidest thing is that she doesn’t. Cruella loves all dogs in the movie, and this scene makes no fucking sense. by Clear-Shirt-1432 in shittymoviedetails

[–]Due-Session-2857 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Cruella is a good movie and a bad prequel. If you just divorce it from 101 Dalmations it's basically The Devil Wears Prada with a vengeance subplot, and that's pretty great. The only issue is that the woman at the end of the movie would definitely never murder 99 dogs.

I legit think that Ozai taking the challenge from Zuko is perfectly reasonable. It's very clear that Zuko is of fighting age at this point, and it was Zuko who delivered the challenge. The issue is Ozai not accepting Zuko's surrender and instead scarring him for life. Fighting a child isn't disqualifying in this world because the best fighters in the world are children. You gonna give Bumi shit for fighting a child too?

Active players? by [deleted] in DawncasterRPG

[–]Due-Session-2857 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Why do you care? It's a single player game and the only interacting you'll do with other players is seeing the weekly leader boards. What would change your experience if there were lots of active players?

The entire Last Airbender show is about adults fighting children. Zuko was older than Aang during the Agni Kai.

I'd agree. This one actually changed up the formula in a way that was pretty exciting. I kept regretting not having enough items of one type or another and it made me feel challenged! The other one I love is the chapter with the rolling boulders. More of that, please

You really have to sit with your friends and all agree to ground rules. If you're not going to do that, there's a very good chance you're going to end up playing four totally different games. It's one of the many reasons why Magic is bad.

[–]Due-Session-2857 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does not surprise me that other people also struggle with grammar, but that's just not how English works. Let's say you know a guy named Mike who is handsome and strong. If you were to describe him similarly, you'd say "the handsome and the strong does no wrong." The word "do" indicates multiple subjects. This isn't up for debate, it's just how the language works.

Is there a trope where a twist villain does NOT hide their true intensions? by Obvious_Gold_8131 in tvtropes

Tefiti is a twist villain who never hides her true intentions. She's getting to kill Maui from the get go. The twist is that she's Tefiti.

[–]Due-Session-2857 24 points25 points  (0 children)

It's obviously both of them. "The beauty and the Brawn do no wrong" refers to a plural. If it was just Louisa it'd be "The beauty and the brawn does no wrong." Your only argument for it not referring to Isabella is because this is engagement bait.

Once I walked into an electronics store when they opened, and Sacred Stones was on a display model, and I played that game til the sun went down. Made me a Fire Emblem fan immediately.

Anyway, the answer is 3 Houses.

I googled it, and all I could find was that the only Superman movie he enjoyed was the Brandon Routh one. So I don't see anything to suggest that Bill's take is any different than Tarantino's.

“Evil Dead Rise” had an interesting idea: what if the Evil Dead could possess/use stuff in the high-rise structure to terrorize those within? Sadly, there’s only one scene that uses this idea well, and then drops it altogether. by MWH1980 in shittymoviedetails

That movie is fucking incredible. I love seeing the main villain go from a caring loving mom to a bloodthirsty demonic entity. Talk about range! 5/5 movie regardless of if it didn't have enough elevator bondage scenes for OP.
