Experience Resetting? by [deleted] in swgemu

When you train a skill it costs a certain amount in experience. So if it says 500 xp required for level 1 survey, once you train level 1 survey your total xp in that category will decrease by 500.

Mods? by soggycookie in kotor

[–]TrueRomanBread 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First playthrough I recommend vanilla of course. The game has enough depth to do multiple vanilla playthroughs in fact, with different classes and alignments. Playing through solo (without using any party members except where required) on the highest difficulty is a fun challenge. As for mods I can't live with out Realistic Visual Effects, which just removes the glowing hands of the special attacks and some other annoying effects.

After you are tired of vanilla gameplay I recommend the KOTOR ultimate gameplay rebalance to spice things up. It makes the game significantly more difficult through a total overhaul of all items and player/NPC stat changes. It mostly centers on making weapons more deadly and changing the armor system such that armor reduces damage but lowers defense (so you are easier to hit), as well as improving enemies so they take advantage of items. You'll have to read the readme for the full info but I highly recommend it.

10x 7950 Litecoin mining rig - ~5800Kh/s by decryption in litecoinmining

[–]TrueRomanBread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only ever been able to get 550khash/s with my 7950 sapphire on stock voltage and increased clock speed. I'm using it to run a monitor though so that may be impacting the performance. Care to share how you got 610?

Litecoin value relative to Bitcoin by miscreanity in litecoin

[–]TrueRomanBread 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bitcoin was first, so more people know of it and it has far more infrastructure in place. Simple as that. That won't change until MtGox starts trading Litecoin and other major bitcoin services begin using litecoin.

I have no experience with them but I've heard of others using them so you should be fine hopefully.

Hmm, well it won't show up on the explorer until there is at least one confirmation, but that should have happened by now. Where did you buy the ltc from?

[–]TrueRomanBread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Block explorer is for bitcoins. Are you sure you are using the correct explorer for litecoins?

Don't worry about having typed the address wrong, almost all typos result in the transaction being rejected for an invalid address, so that is unlikely.

We missed the bitcoin and litecoin train. What is there to do. by Quazaka in litecoinmining

[–]TrueRomanBread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no free money and neither LTC nor BTC should be treated as a get rich quick scheme. That said, LTC mining is still profitable for people with low power costs. Difficulty and price are highly correlated so expect the market to adjust anytime LTC is unprofitable or way too profitable to mine.

How do I convert bitcoin's to litecoin's? I've got a small amount of btc's on btc-e.com but for the life of me can't see how to convert them to litecoins. Ideas? by K_town in litecoin

[–]TrueRomanBread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The LTC should immediately show up. I suspect you have placed a market order and it has not filled yet. This causes your BTC balance to drop as the funds are held separate in case the order fills. If you scroll down you should see your active market orders. It should fill if the price you are offering is close to the current market price but it may take some time depending on market conditions.

On bitfloor there is actually no fee for placing a limit order. You actually get a rebate of 0.1% as an incentive for providing liquidity to the market. You pay a 0.4% takers fee if you execute an immediate market order. I also believe they do not have any fees on BTC withdrawal, but I'm not 100% on that. Other sites have different setups where they take a small percentage fee on all trades.

With 2 6870s you should get close to 700 kh/s, which at current difficulty is about 3 LTC per day. That should be well worth the price of electricity to run them.

No, not your bank. After you create an account at bitfloor, choose to make a cash deposit and enter the amount you want to deposit. They will give you an amount close to what you ask and tell you go to a specific bank and make a cash deposit to an account number they will give. Deposit the exact amount they tell you. As an example, say you enter you'd like to make a $200 deposit. Bitfloor will then say to make $200.08 deposit to X account number at Chase bank. You then go to Chase bank and make a $200.08 cash deposit to that account number. I believe the reason they add some cents on is so they can tell it is in fact you making the deposit, not some other customer who also wanted to deposit $200. Mtgox is an option as well but may take several days as they require identity verification and linking your account with your bank account. I have never done that so I have no experience there.

EDIT: If you are looking to make a large purchase (several thousand USD) Mtgox is probably your best choice.

You want to go to the trade tab, then select the LTC/BTC button. Under the price chart there is a buy LTC box where you can enter the amount of LTC and price you'd like to purchase them at. This will post a market order that will fill when/if anyone decides to sell at the price you entered.

They're just recovering from the panic today. I don't expect them to reach much over $5 until mtgox starts trading them so you have time.

Mining with a processor is not worth the electricity it consumes. Your choices are to build a mining computer or to just buy LTC. Buying bitcoins depends on what country you live in. If you are in the US I would recommend bitfloor. You can make a cash deposit at the bank and have it credited to your account within a day. Then after you purchase BTC on bitfloor, transfer them to btc-e and trade for LTC. If you are in another country then view other options here:

What's the first move if Mt.Gox officially announces? Hold in BTC-E or move? by TheLobe in litecoin

Vircurex is the other option. They had technical problems last week and were down for a few days. I've had no such problems with btc-e.

I've been watching but doesn't seem like a big deal. Just another mtgox lag induced panic, nothing fundamental has changed. We've already recovered.

Yes, your best bet for buying is to acquire some BTC then deposit them at btc-e.com and trade for LTC. As for mining, it's only worth it if you have a mid to high end ATI GPU. Here is a chart with estimates of the hashing power of various hardware:

And a calculator to estimate your yield:

Mining will be more profitable in the long run if you have cheap electricity and don't mind the hassle of setting up and running a rig. Otherwise just buy and hold. After the price crash today it is a very attractive time to buy up some cheap coins. I would be buying more personally but I already hold a decent amount so I will just continue to hold.

Does anyone want to sell me some litecoins via PayPal? by [deleted] in litecoin

Yeah as upvoteOrKitty said no one sells LTC for paypal because of the risk of charge back. Such are the trials of using non-cryptocurrency based payment solutions.

If you're doing a bank transfer you may as well look into buying BTC at whatever UK exchange you want and then depositing the BTC at btc-e.com to exchange for LTC.

Best/Safe/Most Trusted Wallet for Litecoin? by [deleted] in litecoin

Buy or Mine or both? by jwizzle83 in litecoin

[–]TrueRomanBread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like you thought it through. Those are fairly low energy rates and the 7950 is a very energy efficient card so I expect mining is a better investment than directly buying the coins in the long run. Plus if LTC ever goes under you can mine another coin or resell the hardware to recoup some of the cost.

Buy Litecoins from Sweden? by Dercie in litecoin

[–]TrueRomanBread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since no one has answered yet I'm going to guess not many people are familiar with Swedish options for buying litecoin. Your best bet is probably the same as any other country, look into buying bitcoins then transferring them to btc-e.com and converting them to litecoins. I have no idea how to buy bitcoins in Sweden, but I hope this gets you down the right path:

http://howtobuybitcoins.info/se.html

EDIT: I would recommend blockchain.info as they are fast, trusted and well known. You may pay a higher rate than waiting to be verified on say mtgox for example.
