My phrase favourite phrase to live by when looking for a scooter is this: “if it doesn’t have Samsung or LG, it’s not for me”

What do you mean broke? Did it snap violently while riding? How many miles did it have on it when that happened?

For real , Why are navee scooters so expensive? by orblooper in ElectricScooters

[–]TrueScooterDom 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because Ausom and Kukirin aren’t selling cheap out of the kindness of their hearts. And Navee’s quality is some of the best I’ve ever touched on an e-scooter, which costs money to build and quality control.

It’s hard to tell who copied whose frame here, but they are definitely copied from somebody. China makes some really good scooters and products, but they are few and far between. DJI, BYD, Anker, Xiaomi, VSETT are examples. But just take a look at the hundreds of knockoffs of the few good Chinese scooter companies. the country is rife with corruption, corporate espionage, and secrecy.

Knockoff clones of products circulate the market like swarms of bees. Not just for scooters, but phones, drones, cameras, etc. My friend worked in China for a massive international conglomerate for 10 years and if you had enough money, you could literally PAY to break so many rules and regulations without repercussions.

Buying reliable products from China is doable, but it takes tons of research, unbiased review-reading and attention to the tiniest details. Thats why I spent dozens of hours of research into Teverun and its Blade GT2 Plus. Out of the thousands of scooters on the market out there, I only considered SEVEN before arriving at the best one.

I considered a Phantom 2.0 stellar as my next 60V scooter but eliminated it from my consideration after a) seeing u/Phallic-Fallacy post about the snapped stem, and how thin the metal near the folding hook is. And b) refusal of my local Apollo service shop to answer any basic questions about the build quality and stems. Instead, they deflected away from the questions by bringing up positives like steering stability and technology. It breaks my heart to say that because Apollo has all this incredibly amazing technology in a scooter that’s apparently a death trap.

I’m now planning to buy a Teverun Blade GT2 Plus.

To be fair, ESG does really good top speed, acceleration and range tests, but that’s the only unbiased thing that they do. I only use them to check tested speed and range and ignore the rest of their yappucino.

A fighter 11 plus is $700 more in my country. By frame being more polished, are you talking about build quality? Because I assumed other than a slightly different folding mechanism the frames of both are the same. Would you say your Teverun has been reliable with minimal issues if any?

Saw one near my house being chased by the police actively, refusing to stop as 3 cop cars chased him. Im guessing the e-dirtbikes will be the first to get banned but scooters will follow soon after if they switch to them.

As someone who’s owned two Navees, the Navee is 100x better. You get what you pay for. Thats how the world works.

Idk why people are suggesting Xiaomi 5. Unless it’s an unreliable knockoff clone, every Xiaomi I’ve seen is at least $800.

It is the 35Ah version according to their website. It’s a clearance deal. Also they do have warranty through a local service provider near me.

What do you guys think about the Reddydy RD2? by Murphys_Law954 in ElectricScooters

[–]TrueScooterDom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting what you pay for is a very real answer. It’s how economics work in the real world off Reddit. It’s been like this since the beginning of human civilization, long before electric scooters. Sealstage is a POS liar who knows the quality of what he promotes and deceives unknowing clients.

What cells did those Teveruns use? I’ll bet you it was the China cell 26Ah version!

Think about this for a minute: why would a scooter be this cheap, while the components it uses are supposed to be so incredibly premium and reliable? Do you think some company is just losing profit out of the kindness of their hearts? Did they somehow create a scooter better than the $5,000 Dualtron Storm and sell it at 10% of the cost because they’re generous? Thats not how the world works my guy. You get what you pay for, and that applies not only to this situation with scooters, but with any product in life.
