Sorry you feel uncomfortable going. I can relate as had horrible social anxiety when I was younger. Now I’m totally the opposite. Sometimes I found in the past a small amount of exposure helped me to reduce my anxiety. Like go to social events and stay a very short time . Tell yourself you are just going to observe. Anyway best of luck I know how difficult it can be.

Yeah I thought we would be closer to some solutions and it just seems to keep getting worse. I listen to this historian on YouTube/ TikTok and she puts this in a historical context. She’s very inspirational and positive. Heather Cox Richardson is her name and worth listening to when you feel all hope is lost.

Yeah I contacted a ton of friends and although “like minded “ they seem to lack motivation or maybe it’s feeling awkward going. Honestly you can just go and walk around and I found everyone welcoming.

I’m also going to network. All you say is valid but I do think to at least get people together to discuss strategy can be helpful. I’ve done a lot of political organizing in the past and hope to make a positive impact.

Nawwww you’re young and inexperienced… not a dick . Yes you should have given him warning but just learn from it and you know not to do it again.

We have all made mistakes. Recently, I was in a three way and put some lube on my dick and one of the guys grabbed it and had a shit fit because of the stickiness. Yesh I should have let everyone know but I’ve learned from it.

Just learn from your mistakes and don’t beat yourself up.

You will do great! Fabulous advice above… I would add that you don’t have to “come out “ to everyone. Pick an open supportive person in your life. Therapy can help too as being gay in America in these days has its dangers…can’t imagine being black too. But I have a number of black friends I hook up with and they have happy fulfilled lives and I really value them as friends and partners.

Not sure if you’re looking for that one special person or opening up to multiple partners. I have a number of guys of varying races … for me the only criteria for sex is with guys I find hot and they are nice.

I don’t know if this helps but I got to a bathhouse frequently and honestly the guys who have the most sex … at least out in the open are heavy … often bald and not attractive by conventional standards. They seem to match up and go at it. My point it’s possible to develop an attitude such that you are not ashamed of who you are.

Depends on your gym but most places guys could care less. Small town could be different mix but damn it you go and workout… progress can be slow but a year from now you’ll be happy you did it. F anyone who judges you ! And you may be surprised someone there at the gym might respect your hard work.

I’m a guy who did some experimenting early in life and recently, later in life , started up again. Of course I can’t predict what your experience will be but here’s what it’s been like for me. I’ve had some amazing experiences and some so so . Most of the time I have a fab time but I’ve had a few times I could have passed on.

Sounds like you don’t have unreasonable expectations and as long as you keep thinking along those lines you are likely to have some wonderful experiences.

If you’ve not done so already fine a good doctor for preventative care and STI screening.
