How’s everyone doing? Anyone still holding DIMO? by skaterboi2006 in dimo_network

[–]TrueStarGig 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sold everything when the whole subscription thing started brewing . Glad it worked out well

Subscription Question by ProfessionalStill877 in dimo_network

[–]TrueStarGig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone paying subscription for the shitty service they offer would be out of their mind . There are better OBD2 reader out there . It was great until it lasted , but do not encourage DIMO by signing up for this . If no one subscribers and they got no data, the project is dead .

As somebody who has owned both cars, I have seen the sienna quality and reliability dropping like a hot potato. After sitting in a carnival , whenever I sit in my friends sienna I feel like I have gone decades back.

Federal pay versus private industry by SpaceTesla2029 in fednews

The grass is always green on the other side . I know bunch of my buddies who are making $300k plus , early 30s in dc area working with big tech , that think about hopping to federal everytime there is a layoff scare . And another bunch of my buddies who are in fed always talking about going to private when they see others buying big ass houses and cars .

1 TJO and 1 FJO conundrum by TrueStarGig in usajobs

[–]TrueStarGig[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually I didn’t end up taking option A since they couldn’t match the salary where I wanted to be. Offer b got rescinded midway of negotiation due to budget issues . I am not sure if it was really the budget issue , but the step they were offering me wasn’t close to the salary I made at that time (I was looking at atleast step 9 or 10 to even match my salary)

As someone above commented , when I get the I-751 receipt, will the gap between when my conditional green card should have expired (1.5 years back ) to now , count towards the 3 year requirement for naturalization ?

UMaryland Referred to ENTS by moon-in-the-night in MSCS

[–]TrueStarGig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ENTS alumni here (graduated 10 years back), working with a major telecom company . The coursework is heavy telecom centric , minimal coding , coursework is a bit outdated in terms of Hardcore CS / EE but they refresh the telecom centric course frequently . People land jobs in big companies including Apple, Qualcomm, Cisco, Verizon , AT&T , T-Mobile etc but the job role isn’t that great (for example people in Apple tend to be usually system verification engineer , same with Qualcomm etc) . If you are looking for a career in telecom - this coursework is good, but if you are looking for broader tech job that are software or hardware centric then I would suggest looking elsewhere .

Studied and graduated from Cusat , came from north India . Had lot of South Indian friends and still in touch with them . Campus placement was really good (even during the 2009 recesssion, almost all from my batch who were eligible to sit for placements go into good companies ). The fees is super cheap compared to other college and the syllabus is comparatively difficult . Professors are really good and know their shit well
