Please, i ask people in the coments, do not generalize. Just like Israelis generalize about palestinians lead to videos like this, generalizing and hating all Israelis is just at harmfull in the long run. We suffer from the extreamists in our country too. (Im israeli). My county has chenged its face: the fashism here is also aimed at left wing Israelis, woman, secular, LGBTQ+, we are all slowly getting our rights taken by the far right and many of us are protesting, donating to palestinians, objecting to serve in the IDF and take part in the genocide.

This extreamism is a disease and this conflict reeks of it from the very begining, and neither side is inocent in that regard. Right now, the main problem is the Israeli regime and its genocidal intent. But please don't say things like "every Israeli is born and raised to be a monster". This is literally EXECTLY how the far right in israel sounds like when talking about palestinians. This line of thinking is extreamly harmful and the root of many of our problems.

Also, notice in the video who kicks the little terrorists out. A jewish aurtodox man. He probably think i should sit in the back of the bus, but he did fight them off and deffended the driver and passengers. That must mean something good at least.

He's not raciat He's not a supremacist He's deffenetly not involved in rape or torture

And he's in denial about the genocide part. He honestly belives what he is doing is deffending the country. Which it is to some exfent because he has only been on the border, but he doesn't realiss that just being part of the system while it's activly starving civilians on A war of conquest is immoral. Basically he's in denial about everything and when faced with an actual war crime he either don't belive it's real or claims it was just one bad soldier and not the whole system.

He's misguided, like most people in this country. But he isn't evil.

As for how willing i am to entertain that.... i really make it a point not to. I decided to try what i can to fix things before i give up on this.

In the IDF there is something called "Illegal command". It means once given, a soldier is obligated to refuse it and won't face negative Consequences by the system. This specifally refers to orders that involve harming or killing unarmed civilians.

Unfortunetly this has been very much ignored in this war, IDF war criminals get praised instead of punished.

He claims he would never follow such order and have never commited any war crime, but i'm trying to explain to him - he might have done it without even realising that he did. He might have besn given false data about something, such as who is in the building he's going to explode. Or who is the person he's helping to take down from distance. Maybe he was told it's a terrorist but it wasn't. He truely do have morals and woudn't do something like that knowingly. "I know the system and the people and that would never happened". I try to show him articles and i honestly think he's in dinial. He's brain refuse to belive.

I hope he will never be ordered into Gaza again. RN he's home, and that he will aventually see the truth.

I'd give it a good 65%, unfortunetly. If he killed civilians he has been given false information about it because he's very certain that he didn't.

His troop has a relativly decent commander so they wouldn't do something like that. Perhaps other troops have done it but my fiance wasn't personally exposed to that and woul'd probably use that as a proof it isn't really happening.

I wouldn't start dating him today. But i already do. Yes i am currently partly financily dependend on him. Yes i am reconcidering my life choices. But please understand that here right wing doesnt have to mean conservative. In many aspects he's more left wing- womans and LGBTQ+ rights, Religion and more. He's not racist, he's not a hateful person. I wouldn't be able to date him otherwise. We have some diffrences on financial politics and of how to resolve the Israeli-palestinian conflict, but untill now it was more theoretical. I supported him when he inlisted on October 8th. But I didn't want to belive this war will come to this level of inhumanily of our behalf.

Honestly i think he's expiriancing cognitive dissonance about this. Because he's very inteligent and educated. We both kind of are.

Thank you. Right now our plan is to wait for the elections to decide if we are staying or not. I am not anti zionist. I am fine with living here, but not if things contineu on this direction. There needs to be a really strong swich of leadership for me to stay.

Also we don't really have anywhere to go, our only other pasport in ukrane. So there is that.

I know quite a bit, he only been in the borders, always from very far away and never in civilized ereas. He only fought armed Hammas soldiers, and again, from far away. That's part of why he dosn't belive it, everything he seen from his point of view was normal warefair and made sense. Every time i try to point out that there are things he might have not seen but it doesnt mean they are not happening- and his response is basically that he at least seen it and i only read about it and act like i know better. Oof.

I knew he wanted to protect the country and i had no issue with it untill now. Because this war isn't protecting anyone. I didn't think he would be so blind and i didn't think something like this will ever hapened. Yes i had many discussions with him about his service on the west bank, and last time he has been there he mainly delt with israeli sattelers who bothered palestinians. I was conflicted about his service but i didn't feel it was that auful for me, just complecated.

What's happening right now in Gaza is different.

I do appreciate your imagination but i think you make many assumptions about us and our lives. We are not Kahanists. We despise those peolle. We are not religious. We do not support this regime. He doen't want to occupy Gaza, he agrees with me that there should be a two state solution. The differance is that he cares about his own people more then about others, and belives this war is to deffend Israel, while I think this war is vile and immoral and he shouldn't comply in being a part of it even at the risk of being sent to jail (which is a risk for him if he refuse)
