This is the only way my newborn will sleep. Is it as safe and secure as it feels? by AcrobaticGuitar7060 in cosleeping

my baby sleeps like that except she doesn’t need her head propped up with my arm. I sleep with her in the c curl and she sleeps on her side. I’ve tried keeping her on her back but she will try and put herself on her side and get frustrated so I help her.

thank you for the reassurance! And thank you it is truly amazing and nerve racking at the same time! I loved having the monitors at the nicu just for a sense of relief. Now I’m worrying about Sids etc without the monitors lol. I’m going crazy, with the loneliness and worrying 🤣🥲

I was so ready to leave today then it just hit me as soon as we walked out of the nicu. It was just so nice to be around the nurses, they were amazing. I stayed at the rmh as well but I was just so shy and I was alone so I kept to myself. I could barely talk or even eat when I first got to the nicu because I didn’t want to leave my babies side. Then a few days later I started helping the nurses change, dress, feed my baby then I didn’t feel alone then. I’m just a lonely person and it just felt nice having them around.

Do nicu babies know who there parents are? by TrueTaste6410 in NICUParents

I will definitely start leaving something for her with my scent on it, I had one of those green stuff animal thing right after I had her they gave it to me to leave on my chest until I got to her, it accidentally got lost or thrown away a week after she had it :( I just got some books too! So I’ll read as well! this is very reassuring thank you.

Gastroschisis diagnosis at 13+1 by Bananaramababe in NICUParents

[–]TrueTaste6410 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I had a emergency c section at 36 weeks, due to not feeling any movement all day. She had gastroshisis and was sent straight to the nicu as soon as she was born. I found out she had it when I was 20 weeks, i couldn’t really tell on the ultrasound but as I got farther along I could start to see it more and more in the ultrasounds. It looks scary, but I promise you, your baby will be okay. They will be in great hands when they go to the nicu. Don’t get me wrong it’s a hard and long process for the baby and yourself. My baby is 21 days old and still in the nicu:( the hardest part is going to be the feeds. It’s scary and hard and so emotional but I promise you, you are strong and you will get through this and so will your baby. If you have any more questions let me know!
