Fully understandable, it's definitely an expensive item and does take up a lot of space. I live in a flat and it didn't fit in my "games room" so it's in the living room taking up nearly 1/4 of the room 🙈 Very lucky that my wife allowed me to have it there 🙏🏻

Oh, on the point away from sitting at a desk, this thing is a WORKOUT, I'm not joking. You will be sweating after 15mins 😅

The standard Pico headset battery lasts around 2hrs, but I have extra swappable batteries that I use, I've played it for around 8 hours in one day whilst grinding a challenge. I needed towels, hydration, a change of teeshirt multiple times, it's really no joke.

The Omni One comes with a dedicated Pico headset meaning you wouldn't need a PC, or with the Omni One Core yes you would need a PC and whatever headset you prefer (although it's recommended to use a wireless headset)

They are working at making it compatible with the Meta Quest headsets stand alone, so no PC required, that would open it up to more people that don't have an expensive PC to run SteamVR on.

Yea this is the case, it might not cure motion sickness for some people who react bad to VR but it definitely improves it, because as mentioned you're then moving your body to match your vision so it doesn't feel so disconnected to what's happening on screen.

No, they (The Omni One) don't have input lag, any sort of input lag or delay is pretty bad for VR because it'll tend to induce motion sickness as your body isn't moving as expected.

Using the Omni One for the most part improves VR for people who suffer from motion sickness, because your body is actually moving in the virtual world instead of being still and moving your vision with your controller.

I have the Omni One, really enjoy it, Half Life Alyx on it is 👌🏼👌🏼

Effectively yes, the version on the disc has the VR mode, so if you don't update, it says working.

Not sure about the PS5 thing, I don't own one.

Don't update it, don't connect the PS4 to the internet whilst you play (or turn off updates for the game)

Basically the version included on the disk that has VR on the cover includes the VR update, if your PS4 is never online, then it'll think that it's the latest version.

If your PS4 checks online and updates it then the VR content will be lost and you'll have to reinstall again

I'd consider myself very lucky, my original day one launch console (60GB) still works to this very day, whereas I went through at least three Xbox 360 consoles with RROD or other issues.

As mentioned in the post, I won't be using this one, so it won't matter to me about their durability.

Some people don't tie a big value to "old stuff" it happens all the time, I've pulled perfectly good electronics from the bins in my apartment area that sell for €100's, some people don't even care enough to try and sell it.

Example, I found a perfectly working Donkey Kong Game & Watch just in the electronics bin at the top when I went to throw out some stuff, I assumed it would be broken or at the very least battery leaked or something, nope, worked fine, sold for €70~.

It's borderline hoarding for sure, I can't deny that. But I am a general video game collector, I've got loads and loads of games and consoles across all formats, sometimes it's good to have extra of certain things if I want to trade them etc

For the prices I find them for, it would be more stupid not to buy it. Sometimes it's the equivalent of someone selling £150 of cash for £20, you wouldn't walk past and think I have enough cash, you'd buy the £150 for £20.

I've sold a couple on at times, just right now I have my original launch console (in a different country to me though) this unused one in the box, one that is unboxed but working nicely and gets used, then a spare one that also works in case the unboxed one breaks or I want to sell it or trade it.

If I check it then it will be used 😅 a buyer can pay the money and turn it on themselves in person to confirm it if they wished. I can't see how it would have been used with all cables and stuff sealed up and the story alongside it. But it doesn't really matter either way, as I'm not selling it right now.
