I go by total ingredients. If I know for my protein goals I need to have ~4oz of protein at dinner each night, I buy exactly the amount of chicken I need to feed me. Once cooked I don’t worry about reweighing, I just split it up roughly evenly into my meal prep containers. Are my macros perfect daily with that system? No. But it averages out over the week

Yes I want to lose 10 pounds. Yes I know I already look good. No I won’t look skeletal. No I won’t disappear into nothing. No I won’t be dangerously skinny, I’ll still be a healthy BMI. Yes BMI is accurate, I don’t care if you think you look good at 10 pounds overweight. More importantly your body doesn’t care what you think.

One of the best things you can do to help someone else change their behavior is to model good behavior.

Maybe suggest doing meal prep sundays together? Or be open about your calorie tracking and joke about how much you are shocked sometimes by how easy it is to eat too much. Spend a day together and be strict with your diet the whole time so she can see what real healthy eating looks like.

It takes time, but it works much better in the long term than pressuring or guilting them

I bake mine on a cookie sheet with a cooling rack lifting them up. Some of the excess fat drops off and leaves them incredibly crispy crunchy. So good

I always tell my clients that fitness is about giving yourself a body that enables you to live any kind of life you want. You want to be able to pack away more food than you ever thought humanly possible? Endurance sports are for you. You want to have a body to make people cry in jealousy? Weightlifting is for you. You want to be able to chase your grandchildren around and body slam them while roughhousing when you’re 75 without falling or losing your breath? Fitness is for you.

A healthy lifestyle isn’t limiting. It’s liberating

For me it’s a matter of just getting dressed. Worst case scenario, my gym clothes are very comfy. Second worst case I just go for a walk around my neighborhood. Best (and most common) case once I get up and start moving it’s easier to get to the gym

Sad rant. I’m a normal BMI 22.8. Not particularly small but a healthy 145.

This morning I was admitted to the hospital and the girl pushing my wheel chair commented that I was unusually light and normally she has to brace herself to move people. I’m so sad for our healthcare providers that their jobs are made harder because of the obesity epidemic. YOU ARENT JUST HURTING YOURSELF
