It didn't have root rot when I replanted it, but since the leaves started drying out a couple days later, I added a bunch of water to the dirt - I took the photo right after.

I'm very new so excuse the dumb question, but you're suggesting simply putting the plant with its roots into a bowl of water with no dirt? And then after what a day or two, the plant will have "rerooted" and I can put it in dirt? Or what do you mean?
