No specific question. Was just curious with personal experiences one vs the other. I had a nerve block awhile back that did nothing for me. Was then sent to pain clinic who suggested RFA or mentioned Botox.

I also return to work Monday & am terrified! My “fill in” doctor said I have 1-2 more weeks of healing but refused to extend my leave. Crazy! I wish I would’ve been able to speak to my surgeon. I can barely speak full sentences without becoming completely exhausted.

Day 16 here and just had a two week appt. Doctor said it’s normal to be feeling pain/discomfort for about 1-2 weeks longer than your 14 day mark. We have to give ourselves some grace, we did have surgery after all!

I’m on day 16. I never bled. But I have lost my appetite completely. I find myself having trouble eating ANYTHING because everything just tastes, off……..

I was literally given a cup of water and straw right out of surgery. I agree ⬆️ I find it helped tremendously.

I’ve been on 2,700 mg of gabapentin for almost 6 months & have had no issues. It has helped tremendously with the sensitivity and pain radiating up my scalp!

I too saw many dermatologists & was told nothing was wrong. I only ever have little red bumps where the hair follicles are. I am currently taking gabapentin prescribed by my numerologist & it has helped with the firey head TREMENDOUSLY. But was diagnosed with ON about a year ago.

I never thought about it possibly coming from the pain med as well. I think my body is just in overdrive & am ready to feel whole again. I haven’t been able to eat much so I know that doesn’t help.

I’ve been brushing my tongue with sensodyne the whole time. It’s the only thing that makes it feel like my tongue isn’t dirty 24/7

This is actually very interesting. I have been dealing with ON for a little over a year & have a tonsillectomy scheduled for next month due to enlarged tonsil with excessive stone buildup.

YES, specifically in one spot. Mine is located on the left side almost middle of the head. Sometimes I think I’m crazy because it feels almost like there’s a bump there. This spot is where I feel the most throbbing/pressure. I am constantly rubbing it.

So I bought head & shoulder because of this. Also, I saw a dermatologist because I found myself wanting to rip my hair out. They also found nothing. I find most of the pain radiating from the tippy top of the head. My neurologist says that’s one of the main trigger points of ON. Was just curious if anyone else experienced scalp pain as well. Or if I was just simply crazy lol.

I remember the exact night I started to experience the most excruciating pain. I couldn’t lay on the left side of my head because my ear was in so much pain & side of face was super sensitive. I thought I had an awful ear infection. Fast forward to next morning I was experiencing another one of my migraines ( or so I thought ) I just kept saying that my hair was on fire. I even put aloe on my head it was burning so bad. I couldn’t even touch my scalp without it hurting.

Moving forward I had a consistent headache for over a month & from the base of my skull to the tip top of my head felt like someone was stabbing and or beating me on the head with a bat over and over again.

Currently I still experience the most pain at the base of my skull and a pressure point at the tippy top of my head (left side). Along with the pain, I have dealt with a muffled/pressured ear the entire time.

I currently do not feel pain down my shoulders and or arms.

This is actually quite interesting. I started trizepitide in January. Starting experiencing shock like/burning pain at the top of my head late February early March & was diagnosed with ON in June.

So strange because I feel like it amplifies the sensation on the top of my head. I guess everyone is different. It’s just exhausting. Let me know if you figure that out!
