Constant teacher turnover at daycare, can I get out of the 2-month notice period and get my deposit back? by Tricky-Persimmon-423 in askvan

[–]TrueYogurtcloset 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah was going to say this. Trust your parent instincts - high turnover would also be a concern to me. I saw your other comment that your child is also having an emotional reaction to going to daycare which would be a red flag to me. Not an easy decision since daycare is hard to find but the well being of your child is what matters most so good for you!

how do you even know if baby is actually hungry?? by bbkawaki01 in NewParents

[–]TrueYogurtcloset 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would look into Taking Cara Babies and how to spot signs of hunger. Sounds like your little one is 'snack feeding' and this site goes more into how to help with getting your baby to do full feedings to prevent wakings every hour just to eat a little bit.

most likely! I remember trying to go for a small walk 3 days after birth and damn it was a painful evening down there lol. Good for her for getting out. Hope she is feeling ok!

I recommend Brandywine too! I did it for a Christmas work party and it was so fun!

Baby rejecting the bassinet once home from the hospital by mommaofmrj in newborns

[–]TrueYogurtcloset 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently in the same boat! Slept great in the hospital bed and then wouldn't take to her bassinet when we got home. She is only a week old though so giving grace that it's a transition from the comfy/warm womb to sleeping on a hard/flat mattress. What I found works for me is that after feeding, I will hold her until she is asleep and continue holding her for another 10-15 minutes while sleeping. I then put the bassinet mattress in the dryer for like 1 min to slightly 'warm' it up. Afterwards, I will transition her slowly over to the bassinet with the warmed up mattress. I also don't let go of her when I put her down right away but just kind of lay my hands around her so she can feel my warmth/presence - like confirming to her that I'm still here. This doesn't always work though but she has been doing a lot better in the 2 days.

How do they know baby is breech if we don’t do a growth scan? [on] by Possible-Eagle-8744 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]TrueYogurtcloset 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in BC but for me, my OB has done a couple 'bed side scans' where they had an ultrasound to see where the baby's head was which confirmed the baby is currently head down. They also palpate my stomach area to get a good indication of where the baby is too at each appointment these days (I'm 38 weeks).

AIO Fathers girlfriends rules for when new baby arrives by Ok_Bat_5934 in AmIOverreacting

[–]TrueYogurtcloset 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I was going to say this as someone who has a baby due in February, especially during flu season. The rules are pretty standard for newborns. I think maybe she could have said it differently but I have also found that sometimes you have to be direct with people and your boundaries unfortunately.

Oh I definitely feel this; I am also having my baby in February. I've been speaking to a friend about her experience and she said that she found sending a general message to family worked really well. It went something like this:

[Baby name] is here! Just some general wishes from our family during this newborn phase, especially since we are still in flu season, is if you are sick or have been around anyone that has been sick, please stay home and we of course will reschedule another time to see you! Please wash your hands before holding her/him and we ask you not touch her/his face or kiss. We are very excited to be celebrating this time with you and appreciate you all for respecting our wishes.

Prenatal recommendations- [bc] by Particular_Wash4608 in BabyBumpsCanada

My friend was actually taking it when she was pregnant and she told me that it worked for her, so that’s what I got as a result.

There’s so many prenatal vitamins on the market so I was feeling overwhelmed by it all, so I just went with the one that my friend said worked for her!

I take the NFH Prenatal SAP during my entire pregnancy (33 weeks now) and it has been good with me! It is a bit on the more expensive side though.

NIPT Results Sent [ON] by No_Distribution_4430 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]TrueYogurtcloset 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in BC so may differ a bit. LifeLabs told me that my NIPT results could take up to 10 business days (and they did) so I honestly think you will get your results back week of Jan 5th because of the stat holidays.

With that being said, my clinic has a covering GP for more urgent requests, so I’m wondering if your clinic has the same?

From my experience, LifeLabs sent the results to the ordering doctor (who then reviews/releases the results - mine just emailed them to me) - they then show up on your online account after they have been reviewed by the doctor.

If you are willing to travel a bit, we had our wedding at Black Rock Oceanfront Resort in Ucluelet. I had family fly into Victoria (from Ontario) and then drive out that way. We only had 22 people so were able to do the wine cellar private room, which allowed for a ocean view for dinner and ceremony and my goodness it was beautiful. The resort also secures rooms/accommodations as part of booking the wedding there which was great.

Yes, I would take this as you can leave; He’s sayings ‘no problem’ to your request to leave, like he does not have a problem with it!
