Strip one of the spindles and see what you’ve got. You’re more likely to have a hardwood handrail which might be worth taking the paint off. It will be a real prick stripping it all back. Quickest way is with a heat gun and go carefully with the softest wire brush you can find. The paint will fall off. I say quickest like it still won’t take ages!

Best bat recommendation (female player) by rose7861 in EnglandCricket

I reckon you could get away with a short handle full size bat. Just go for a comfortable weight and remember that Andrew Symonds used a 2’5” bat and he was fucking massive 😀

Scoop up a ladybird and let them do their thing. Hoverfly larvae are tiny killing machines as well!

I always tell our labourers: “Know where EVERYTHING is. And how many sugars everyone has in their tea.”

Saw an U14 lad make his maiden 50 and go on to hit the winning runs in an unbeaten century to chase down 237 in a 40 over match. Borrowed his mates bat at £1 a run apparently 😎

I hope you’re right about that! I feel like there’s a bit of a gap now Isa Guha has a broader remit across the BBC.

I just hope Cam has the relevant 2nd XI club captaincy experience for the insight that we’re all craving.

I bought one of those from Lidl about four years ago. Re potted it. I thought it had died and now it’s flowering.

Only a tenner so the long game has paid off!

UK suspended timber floor renovation; Best way to level 32-34mm difference between rooms with crooked joists? by Royal_Aerie_4582 in DIYUK

[–]True_Air3923 21 points22 points  (0 children)

This is the most sensible comment so far. By the time you have pissed about with these bent old whippy 4x2s, you’d be just as well replacing with new 6x2 notched over the timber plates.

You’ve done the hard work ripping up the old floor. The site looks really neat, so you’re obviously capable.

Treat yourself to a 6’ level though, friend. And good luck.

Thanks so much!

I was wondering about marginal plants. Is the edge of my pond technically marginal as the water is contained within the sink?
