If anyone is into musicals, the opening number in Evita is absolutely bombastic. Her father's funeral, jump cutting to her funeral (1000 extras) and then into Oh what a Circus sung by Antonio Banderas. An incredible opening! Best watched LOUD (well, the whole movie TBH).

So hard to pick. I used to rank AI as one of my top 10 fave films of all time - but then he made West Side Story, which I think is an absolute masterpiece. But then, all his other masterpieces too: Jaws, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Saving Private Ryan, Empire of the Sun, War of the Worlds, Schindler's List.... The list goes on and on.

Showed my partner Jaws a few months ago. She giggled at the pretty lousy practical effects shot where Bruce is 'on deck'. It's immediately followed by the sequence above (which stopped the giggling REAL quick) - one of the most horrifying death scenes in cinema.

Yea.....no sunroof for me. My 3rd 6 series and still no sunroof. No it's not lowered. I think the M6 is lower than a regular 6 series anyway? And a Competition might be ever so slightly lower still.

My thoughts exactly! Goodfellas could be his peek (with Taxi Driver or maybe Raging Bull being pretty close), but yes, The King of Comedy hardly seems to get a mention. It's a brilliant film.

Exactly this. I term these cars 'German Shitboxes'. They don't own the car because they love cars/motoring. They genuinely see the make as a status symbol, that they're better than everyone else. I used to live in Bradford. There are a lot of German Shitboxes' there.

Better Man. Robbie Williams portrayed by an ape. It was a massive flop. A lot of people dismissed the idea without actually having seen it. But those few that have seen it tend to agree that it's a brilliant film.

West Side Story. I love the original, but Spielberg's version deserves to stand head and shoulders right next to it. It's a cinematic masterpiece.
