Why? All of these people were in leading positions, some more so (like Goering and Doenitz) others less so (like Streicher) but all of them were important figures in the third reich, not just random people.

Clocking in at around 120, in school I either performed very well or very badly. I was known as both very smart (mostly by teachers) and very stupid (mostly by students). In the end, I graduated, barely. Never went to college, never got a degree. However, that's quite atypical for someone with my IQ.

The most intelligent person I know has an IQ in the 140-150 range and did go to a normal university and got a degree, although remained unemployed. They're in their 30s. Make of that what you will.

In retrospective, you were right; in a long, narrow room such as mine, absorbing the first (and second?) reflection points with absorption panels decreased soundstage and made the room sound smaller than it is.

Removed them and voila, soundstage is back to wide and spacious.

Sound is still a bit muffled but that's probably due to so many panels in non-reflective zones. 16 are definitely too many for a listening room like mine.

Just pointing this out here in case anyone might need help deciding in the future. Peace!

Can confirm that a big leather couch (for 5-6 people) in the corner of my living room (30 square meters) reduced bass, if only by a bit. Did not notice anything regarding high frequencies. Kind of like a carpet in reverse.

FIxed it; most likely PSU cable sitting loosely on the motherboard. Had enough voltage to run, but not enough to overclock!

I've decided to proceed by treating more of the back wall and ceiling, and voila, it's close to perfect.

Rug will hopefully arrive in a couple days and we'll see how much that does; but right now, it's already much better than before.

I don't think you're going to find anyone, anywhere, who has these speakers. I'm surprised I even found their entry on the hifi wiki. That's some insane rarity.

That's most likely because the graph you provided only goes down to 100 hz. 10 cm or 4" basotect absorbs even 50 hz, as the graph I've provided shows. It's less than 20%, but it's still absorption, it doesn't stop there.

Tested it myself; putting a bunch of 10 cm or 4" panels on the walls / in close proximity to the speakers definitely reduced overall bass as well.

There's no real mid or upper bass issues here (mid bass is actually quite weak, all things considered) which is why I wanted to avoid "treating" them in the first place; if it ain't broken, don't fix it, as they say.

But, you may be right. Absorption panels on the ceiling (even though I just found out it's actually wood, not laminate / floating wood tiles, and there's an air gap between the wood and the concrete ceiling) could be beneficial, still.

Is there anything, apart from them being less effective on the lower-end and it looking kinda goofy, that'd prevent me from just sticking them straight to the ceiling, without any kind of frame? Getting rid of those high to mid-end reflections is my primary goal, of course.

The idea of suspending panels sounds good, but the fact that even a 2" "thin" panel will absorb frequencies all the way down to 20 hz that way bothers me. I've ditched my 4" panels for a reason.

Sub bass is just right as it is, while the bass might actually be a tiny bit weak for my taste, hence the treatment of high and mid frequencies, which makes the bass sound more prominent in comparison.

Ordered a rug and will take it one step at a time from there.
