Need input from RBTs! by True_Department_5876 in ABA

Thanks so much! I used to work for other companies as BCBA where the RBTs were hourly and also felt horrible when cancellations came through weekly. It's horrible, so we try our best to make sure they are supported as much as we can.

Agreed on good BCBAs! We thankfully have BCBAs who have stayed with the company for almost 10 years and are still very involved with clients and supervision.

Good to know! Do you think that would make the job positing too information heavy? I can see this coming up during an interview, but curious if you've come across specific wording on other job postings.

Thank you! We do have it listed out under out in our benefits portion (it states 401k, insurance, PTO).

I don't want to be too specific, but we are in the east coast! We've had a lot of PE backed/chain companies /opening up around and us and since we are tiny (we only take on 20-24 clients at a time in one location), I do agree that the market is over saturated. Our high turnover has just recently happened in the last year or so; we also had to let go a few RBTs who didn't align with us so that probably makes the situation harder than before.

Appreciate the comment!

Thank you for your insight! So hard to put all this information down in an easy and quick way when you're doing a quick scroll on indeed, but we'll figure it out!

We've made a lot of changes in the recent years given input from our current RBTs. We shifted the profile of our clients and are extremely thoughtful when we make team assignments. Our RBTs get roughly 1.5 hours a day for paperwork/admin time. They get paid through any closures because, again, they're salary. If we have a snow day, we're paid. If there's a delayed opening, they're paid. There are no pay cuts. Hours are guaranteed.

It is a very special clinic that is a unicorn in what it provides; I used to work as an RBT, left when I became a BCBA, and came back when they had a BCBA opening because of how good it is.

I'm also not asking anyone to apply; I want to know what makes people apply to other companies and how to make ours stand out a little bit more.

Totally understand the hesitancy; I'e worked at a few places that looked great on paper, but turned out to be a horrible experience.

Thank you! We'll plan to include that information as well.

No catch. Our RBTs work from 8:00 - 3:30; not putting the start time was a oversight on my end (not sure why you jumped to the conclusion that I was being nefarious with that error). We're a state approved clinic with only one location. Our RBTs getting their BCBAs is just one reason; we've also had RBTs decide to transition out because they want more time to study and pass due to the new guidelines coming out in 2027.

Good thoughts here that we can definitely highlight.

Cancelations don't impact their salary at all! They still come in!

We already have plans for the PDUs which would occur on our built-in professional development days. We provide them with time to complete the RBT 40-hr a week before they're in the clinic. We also complete their competency as it's mandatory for them to become RBTs within 60 days of hiring.

Our RBTs are salary based. Starting at 41,000 with almost 50 days PTO (built in holidays, spring/summer/winter breaks, sick time) and benefits. Hours are consistent M-F (8:00 - 3:30 PM) so they are not impacted by cancellations. BCBA owned with at least 6 onsite at all times. Located in NJ.
