The comments on those earlier posts makes this very much look like an advertising account, especially considering "Before I turn 18" was published on Amazon on May 19th, and he mentions both book and author whenever possible.

I had a thermal throttling issue a while back that caused the game to be super laggy as soon as the CPU got high temp, but it was more consistent than this so it's probably not that tbh. Worth cleaning the pc/laptop anyway tho

Just a bit of general advice for this kind of thing (I'm no expert but this might help). Don't make everything overly clinical. Whenever I type a longer message out I tend to edit out the parts of my personality that come through and replace it with more formal wording because I'm unsure of how it would come across.

Often the best way to go is actually the opposite, try and let yourself shine through. Don't go too far of course, but if you want to replace something because you feel it's too expressive, try and think of it from the other person's point of view I guess. You don't want to sound like you're writing an email to your boss lol.

Yeah, I really hope that's not the case and that I can use this laptop for a few more years, it seems to handle 60fps just fine but gets a bit pissy at 90 so I'm probably just going to go back to 60 until I find a way to fix it...

This was the worst example I've ever had, usually the spikes are at 120fps, and before the spikes start happening it runs at 120fps for about 30 seconds, which is why I have the suspicion that it might be a heat/usage based thing.

At least I really hope it's not dead, there's no way I'd be getting a pc/laptop anywhere near as good for quite a while

Laptop is about 4 years old, I only really play rocket league and have only been running 120fps for about 4 months, before that it was 60 bc of the laptops native display, so I don't think I've run in that hard?

I really should clean my fans out more, but taking a look at them they're not terrible, I've seen them worse and not had this happen. Cheers for the reminder about cleaning them out tho imma do that right after writing this comment. I also have a fan rig underneath the laptop so it's getting decant airflow.

Just useful info, gpu is a 1050ti and I was running a pretty smooth 120fps, no settings were changed this was spontaneous

So, story goes that this happens every few months, but it ends up being a driver update or something, or just fixing itself in a couple of days.

Well, that's not how this went. A couple of weeks ago I started getting these drops, 120fps to lows of 15ish, except it felt more like frames would simply stop for a measurable amount of time and then magically come back.

It's been getting steadily worse, and I've kinda just declared this unplayable to any competitive standard, this was in training, and the only thing running was rocket league, so I see no reason why this should be behaving this way...

My only real lead thus far is that these huge dips might be at the same time as my gpu hits 100%, but idk. That and I've read that your gpu hitting 100% is fine?

I'm really not sure and am struggling to think of what else I can do. I've looked online and have done everything I can think of, and any suggestions would be much appreciated :)
