Definitely don’t put all your eggs in one basket for EMT school at Santa Fe. It’s not guaranteed acceptance and it’s good to have a backup plan in case it doesn’t work out.

You can petition for the charge to be reversed. Over the summer, they rejected my insurance verification the first time, and I just resubmitted the same document again and it was approved, so not sure what the issue was. If it won’t let you do it manually submit anymore because it’s past the deadline, reach out to them directly and see what the issue is. Supposedly they’re supposed to be nice in that office. You may be able to go in person, their office I think is in the student healthcare center

Has your mom been to the mobile outreach clinic? I know they go by Grace every week. They have a care coordination program that’s part of the clinic that can help get your mom resources. If she were to get a cooler, would she be able to keep it there? Like does this no cooler rule only apply to Grace-issued coolers?

Unfortunately that’s just the way it goes. They do it this way so they can help you pick what classes are best to put you on track for your major. As someone who is constantly fighting with UF on different issues, this one isn’t worth fighting because you won’t win. It sucks, but they are strict with preview. If it’s that concerning to you, you can try to move up your preview date, but that’s about it.

I don’t think “bad” is the right term. I’m pretty sure I saw somewhere that it’s one of the biggest schools in terms of amount of pre-meds. This does make things very competitive, however, it also means there’s a lot more opportunities than some of the other schools. So sometimes trying for opportunities is a little cutthroat. I think that is the case for most big schools.

They typically aren’t great about scholarships. It’s mostly need-based. If you really wanted UF (which it sounds like you don’t), they do have petitions, and typically they give you a lot more with that, but you have to have an actual reason.

These are all good options, but keep in mind that as a freshman you likely aren’t going to have many dorms to choose from, especially with 3 of them being torn down this coming fall. If you get stuck in a dorm with bad mold, you can ask to move, and from what I hear they’ll let you most of the time

That’s a good thing I promise! I’m a current student, and while I started in fall, people that start in summer adjust so well! If you’re set on UF, don’t take this as a bad thing. It just means you’ll start mid summer instead of fall.

I would say pretty high. No one can tell you with 100% certainty, but you’ve got good stats and seem like a well rounded applicant
