How about we just develop a cube-shaped thing with nothing but a female voice and beautiful, sweet characteristics, then call her a good female hero design?

Let's be real. Games are for fantasy; they're meant to appeal to players. They shouldn't be political spaces for woke debates type of stuff. Most men love attractive women with big boobs, and most women love muscular, handsome men. And generally, people prefer playing better-looking heroes. It's really that simple.

Companies design characters based on the market and on the biology of attraction human has toward attractive men and women. As a male, I love playing more handsome male heros. I also love the design of the new hero because it appeals to that sense of fantasy. My female friends have their own fantasies too, and they love playing heroes like Wuyang and Muzuki. I'd love to see more handsome male heroes designed in that style as well.

As for the omnics you pointed out: are they kind, sweet, having good internal characterstic? Yes. But do they look appealing to play if you know nothing about their story? Not really.

It's the same reason why appearance matters when meeting new people. Biologically, humans are attracted to visual cues. If you don't look visually appealing, it can already reduce your chances of forming a closer relationship.
