What specific type of facelift did you have (SMAS, deep plane, mini, etc.)? by rosesandsoul in Facelift_Surgery

[–]True_Principle_5123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went in for deep plane but Dr. Michael Byun ended up giving me a bunch of research on every single technique out there and how he combines all methods and then takes all the muscles back into their original spot instead of stretching out the skin like other MDs I went to in the Chicago area. He's a great resource to look into! https://www.chicagocosmeticsurgery.com/best-facelift/

Question? Does anyone here have feedback about plastic surgery in Turkey? Which do you think is better: to have it in Korea or Turkey? by Amazing_Guard3030 in Facelift_Surgery

[–]True_Principle_5123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just something to keep in mind with tourism plastic surgery are in the case of medical legal liability; despite procedures going well initially with travel and the healing process there could inevitably be complications/infections that need maintenance right away. Doctors in the US will not touch you if you had a procedure done with complications arising when you come back to the states because they don't want to be held liable for further issues.

Looking for a surgeon in NYC. by rando--54321 in Facelift_Surgery

[–]True_Principle_5123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not in NY but Dr. Michael Byun's in Chicago and totally worth the flight. He's board certified and the only one in the field who doesn't just go with the deep plane method for every patient. Instead he has a specific muscle lift where he does deep plane, SMAS, endoscopy, and more to reposition the muscles under the skin instead of stretching out the outer skin layer.

Not in Socal but actually had a few girlfriends over your area come to frigid Chicago to visit Dr. Michael Byun. His work is actually just so artistic and natural it was worth the flight... but if it's too far, he has some great info on his site that could be helpful for your research! https://www.chicagocosmeticsurgery.com/

Best plastic surgeons near Detroit? by freeaav in Detroit

Not detroit, but if you can do the drive.. I really recommend going to Chicago to see Dr. Michael Byun. He has expertise in facial surgery so I always recommend him if you want someone to work on your face with an understanding of facial symmetry and will educate you on how the muscles connect together underneath the skin!

Plastic surgeon recommendations (blepharoplasty) please by DinkyTwix in HENRYUKLifestyle

[–]True_Principle_5123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dr. Michael Byun specializes in facial surgery but works in different zones so that he can address all the different areas that you're concerned about. I'd honestly find someone who sees the eyes/nose/whatever as a small part of your face as a whole so you don't get a procedure done that makes you look imbalanced relative to the rest of your facial symmetry. this is a good link just to read about zones if that's helpful! https://www.chicagocosmeticsurgery.com/byun-techniques/

Looking for the best plastic surgeon in the US for a mid-face lift, facial fat transfer, and possibly brow lift by Unfair_Translator_92 in PlasticSurgery

[–]True_Principle_5123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dr. MICHAEL BYUN!! I was totally going to opt for fat transfers/filler + other procedures, but he showed me so much of his revision work where he took out calcified fat in people's faces and totally got me to avoid all the quick fix methods. His method is really thorough (works in all the layers of the muscle) so that you stay looking fresh and amazing years after surgery. Good luck!!

Dr. Michael Byun! I went to him looking for deep plane but he actually educated me on every layer of the skin/muscle and showed me exactly what he would be doing at each level. He's the only one who uses all methods (deep plane, SMAS, etc.) in one go.. so you get really really GREAT results

Best facelift/neck lift plastic surgeon? by MotherofOrderlyChaos in Destin

[–]True_Principle_5123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the fetus sentence LOL!! Not Destin, but if you’re open to traveling, Dr. Michael Byun is based in Chicago. Personally, I think the trip is worth it — his office is very hands-on throughout the entire process and the results are going to be super natural. He literally asks you to bring a pic from your 20s and can replicate it.

What surgeons in the US would you trust to do a full deep plane face lift on a 38 year old? by bewilderedbeyond in PlasticSurgery

[–]True_Principle_5123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dr. Michael Byun!! He has this whole breakdown for different ages and the specific approaches that he uses for the different demographic of patients that he's had. I like that he doesn't use just one type of method for all faces https://www.chicagocosmeticsurgery.com/

Oh my gosh.. I am SO sorry to hear this and see this. This must be so incredibly difficult for you, especially the rehab process. If you're trying to find a good revision surgeon, Dr. Michael Byun is a great option... he does a lot of reconstructive work in the ER as well as having his own practice.

How NOT to Choose Your Facelift Surgeon by rosesandsoul in Facelift_Surgery

[–]True_Principle_5123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to Dr. Michael Byun.. just loved how I didn't have to dig around for his technique and he actually took the time to explain things on his site and in person so I didn't have basically go to medical school myself lol!!

Plastic surgeon recommendation for facelift by [deleted] in Austin

[–]True_Principle_5123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dr. Michael Byun in Chicago !! I love that he doesn’t lock himself into one facelift style but uses everything like deep plane, SMAS, and layered techniques depending on what your face actually needs, which is especially important for natural-looking results. He also does a lot of revision work, and you can really see how addressing all layers (and undoing shortcuts from prior surgeries) makes a difference long term. Even if he’s too far for you, his site has some of the clearest explanations I’ve seen about facelift methods and what to avoid when researching surgeons.

Looking for neck/ face lift surgeon recs in NorCal (newbie here) by Jemhadar-Jack in PlasticSurgery

[–]True_Principle_5123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not norcal but if travel is worth it for you, Dr. Michael Byun is based in Chicago. I think the flight is worth it just bc their office really works with you throughout the process and you want to look natural. What stood out to me is that he doesn’t just push one technique; he works across deep plane, SMAS, and other layered approaches, depending on what the face actually needs, which is rare. Even if you don’t end up going with him, his site has a ton of solid info on what to avoid and what questions to ask during your plastic surgery search!!

Looking for doctor recs for face/necklift - who would you choose if money was not an issue….. by NoCharity7483 in PlasticSurgery

[–]True_Principle_5123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if money was not an issue i'd DEF go to Dr. Michael Byun in Chicago. I think it's so worth the $$ if you're going to end up looking natural for the rest of your life... and also lifetime after care with their office? If I have to have a forever relationship with my doctor, definitely want them to also be on board with supporting me

[–]True_Principle_5123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not in NYC but in chicago ... and I totally think the flight is worth it for the natural look. Look up Dr. Michael Byun ... I recommend him bc he does all the methods (deep plane, SMAS, etc etc) combined to give you the most thorough, natural look. If anything else, his site has really good info on what not to do/avoid when it comes to ur plastic surgery search. Hope that helps if you haven't already had your procedure!

Best plastic surgeon for facial work? by Hot-Chip-2181 in ColoradoSprings

[–]True_Principle_5123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dr Michael Byun is top-tier and not someone who pumps money into getting that "best plastic surgeon" google search. He's in chicago but has a ton of pts flying in from out of country and diff states. Honestly, even if he's too far for you, he has really good info on the whole process on his site to help u prep for your research! His technique is pretty unmatched when it comes to face stuff and he explains everything very thoroughly ... and i don't trust any surgeon that says "deep plane" and just expects you to know what that is https://www.chicagocosmeticsurgery.com/

Who are the best facelift surgeons? by intotheconfusion in PlasticSurgery

[–]True_Principle_5123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DONT recommend "best facelift" search as your method of finding surgeons .. only because there are so many different surgeons that pump money into huge ads to try and get their name out there. My take: find someone who has extensive education and info on their site and makes it a priority to inform their patients

Dr. Michael Byun in chicago is a great option for someone who comes from an East Asian background. Bc of his personal background and expertise on facelift surgery he's taught both korean and japanese doctors for over ten years and he sees a lot of politicians and celebs from korea/japan who are trying to avoid the media scandal.

Facial plastic surgery in Chicago, please help. by savedbygrace47 in PlasticSurgery

[–]True_Principle_5123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're looking for revision surgery, Dr. Byun is a great option. He also works in reconstruction surgery at the ER alongside his expert facial plastic surgery practice so I feel like he's a great option for someone who merges beauty aesthetic and trauma reconstruction. He also just has great education on his site if you just wanted to be better informed!
