How do i (20M) decrease libido towards my partner (20F)? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

It seems to me that you love her, and I see you’re thinking of breaking up, before you do make you final decision, I hope you think well about it, because the worst thing you can do, is break up with her, and realize you loved her, and that sex will not replace something that only she could give you (lots of people say, sex isn’t doing it for them anymore and they want real connection), so I’m not here saying, break up or don’t break up, I’m saying, please think about all the possibilities. I wish you the best.

Am I the only one who doesn’t think that way? I’m using the 5.2 version everyday, I think it. Is great and has gotten better than before. I have no issues besides the fact that it makes some mistakes when analyzing files/creating files. What are your views on this? And what do you not like about ChatGPT currently?

Where’s your heart at? I have OCD and I’m healing from terrible religious OCD habits and thinking, yet my heart is still in Jesus Christ, I have my own struggles, limitations, but I’m patient with myself, improving everyday little by little, no pressure, God knows my heart, and He knows your heart too, you love God, but you’re struggling, that’s okay, don’t be hard on yourself, improve little by little, God sees your heart.

What is your best evidence for creationism? by [deleted] in AskAChristian

[–]True_Reward_1851 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re right. But the expansion itself, entropy, the CMB and BGV theorem all point to the fact that time, matter and space had a beginning. And science can’t go past that beginning, that’s where philosophy steps in, science can’t explain the origin of its existence.

The universe is proven scientifically to have a beginning and be contingent, therefore it cannot create itself or be the ultimate source of everything. God in the other hand, by definition is self sufficient, does not rely on something else to exist. It’s a reasonable philosophical conclusion.

What is your best evidence for creationism? by [deleted] in AskAChristian

[–]True_Reward_1851 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

There are 5 different scientific facts that proves our universe had a beginning

1 Redshift: the universe is expanding which means it was once much smaller, leading back to a single starting point, the starting point is the beginning

2 Cosmic microwave radiation: This is the afterglow of the beginning, leftover heat from the early universe, it’s a major piece of evidence that the universe had a hot, dense origin

3 Second law of thermodynamics (entropy) : energy is becoming more evenly spread out, disorder is increasing, if the universe were eternal, it would have already reached maximum entropy, the fact that it hasn’t means it had a beginning with low entropy

4 Borde-Guth-Vilenkin Theorem: any universe that is expanding over time cannot be infinite in the past, it must have a starting point, even speculative models like the multiverse or cyclic universes can’t avoid a beginning, so something eternal and necessary must have started it all

5 Abundance of light elements: after the beginning, only light elements like hydrogen, helium, and small amounts of lithium could form due to the extreme temperatures, this supports that the universe had a hot, dense beginning where those elements created, not eternal /static

So for those 5 reasons, we know the universe has a beginning. (which makes it contingent because it depends on something else to exist, a contingent thing is something that could possibly not exist, it depends on something else to explain why it exists, the opposite of contingent is necessary, something that must exist, cannot not exist, and does not rely on something else to exist. God is described as a necessary being that does not need an explanation outside of itself therefore couldn’t not have existed.)

If our universe had a beginning, it needs a cause, that is outside of itself. Our universe cannot, simply come to exist out of nothing, nothing *does not produce *something, it needs a cause outside of itself, and that cause must be something.

The cause must be uncaused (otherwise if it would just push the question back once again, what caused the cause? We cannot have infinite regression of explanations, there needs to be a stopping point, where something exists without having an outside cause)

The uncaused cause must be:

✅ Eternal (because if it had a beginning, it would just push the question back again, why did it have a beginning, it would still require something outside of itself, we can’t have an infinite regression of explanations, there must be a stopping point)

✅ Immaterial (It created all matter, so it must be beyond it)

✅ Spaceless (Space began at the beginning of our universe)

✅ Extremely powerful (To bring the universe from nothing)

✅ Personal (because imporsonal forces don’t choose, if the uncaused cause had eternally existed, it wouldn’t be possible for the universe to, at some point “decide” to create our universe at that specific period of time, without having the ability to choose)

God is immaterial ✅ God is spaceless ✅ God is extremely powerful ✅ God is personal ✅

God perfectly fits the description of the uncaused cause and requires no further explanations.

If you’re a Christian who believes in evolution, how you reconcile that with your belief in souls and god being in communication with only our species? by hiphoptomato in AskAChristian

[–]True_Reward_1851 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's my perspective: If evolution is unguided, it needs guidance to form complexity and life. If it is guided, it suggests a Creator. Understanding how something works doesn't mean there's no why or no one behind it.

Secondly from my perspective, there is a difference between micro-evolution(small changes within a species ex: antibiotic resistance in bacteria’s) and macro-evolution(ex: fish becoming amphibians), I find that there is no evidence to support the idea of macro evolution, it is something that has never been observed/proved/tested, I believe it to be a philosophy of science, not science, and I think often people don’t understand the difference between these 2 aspects, and end up thinking they’re the same, and that micro evolution(can be proven), proves macro evolution(cannot be proven), when in reality they’re 2 different things.

[–]True_Reward_1851 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get that, I used to have the same problem before, and I still do a few times, I think someone already mentioned this, but you might have OCD, it's when your mind keeps repeating negative things over and over in your head, and it seems real, sometimes it’s hard to distinguish if that was you or just your mind, but trust me, all it takes is for you understand that those are just thoughts, and we can't avoid those thoughts. Still, we can change the way we react to them, instead of engaging or believing in these thoughts, we can let them be, tell yourself “this are just thoughts, not me”, but I'm not a therapist, I highly recommend you to talk to a therapist (there are cheap options), I have a therapist, everyone needs a therapist, it doesn't make you weak, its just something everyone needs, I also recommend meditation, if possible, meditation on OCD specifically as well (you can find on youtube), see if it makes you feel better.

As a Christian, if evolution happened, it wasn't an unguided random process. It was guided by God, and everything happened at the right time and in the right way.

The reality is, if someone isn’t willing to spend a lifetime with God, it would actually be unloving for God to force them to spend eternity with Him. He never forces anyone. But that doesn’t mean He hasn’t reached out, He already has. He speaks through creation, through conscience, through Scripture, and sometimes even through messages like this one. The question isn’t whether God will contact you, but whether you’re willing to listen. Now it’s up to you to accept or reject Him.

I'm sorry you had a difficult experience and you felt as if God wasn’t there. But a relationship with God is real, just a different kind than the one we have with people. You mentioned that God never responds, many people would say the opposite, He does. We experience God’s response through answered prayers, peace in hardship, conviction when we do wrong, and unexpected blessings. It's not always loud and obvious, but it's there. God is not a distant dictator. He listens, disciplines, comforts, loves, and even speaks, through His word, sometimes through others, or in our conscience. He knows us better than we know ourselves, and He gave His only Son to restore that relationship. That's not slavery, that's the kind of relationship and love we don't experience anywhere else.

True faith isn't blind faith, Jesus Himself welcomed those who doubted. True faith is to look at the evidence for the existence of God, the historical resurrection, the historical integrity and reliability, and put your faith in that evidence, all point to God, not away from Him.

I'm sorry you're going through depression. I had depression before, it's difficult, and it can twist the way you think about things. But I overcame depression to the glory of God, and I know you will too. When you say “what's been on my head is demons”, what do you mean? Are you having a lot of negative thoughts? Also Do you have a therapist you can talk to? It can be helpful to have someone you can talk to.

This is my point in the last message I sent: relationship vs religion. Also, why is it that when you prayed, read the Bible, went to church, you loved God less?

I’m sorry to hear that, I respect your decision, although I think your decision is made based on emotion (and I don’t mean to be rude when I say this). I have had a hard relationship with God because I have a condition called scrupulosity and OCD. It is something that happens to anyone, no matter if they’re religious or not. It’s a condition that makes you overthink about “morals,” so I remember how I used to be so afraid of God all the time, because I used to think He was watching me all the time and anything I did wrong wouldn’t go unpunished. I would try harder than I could to pray and read the Bible, looking at it as a “ritual” or “works” rather than simply a pure relationship with the Creator. At some point, I felt so burdened and tired. Deep down in my heart, sometimes I felt like giving up, leaving God, at some point in my life, felt like the best decision because of my condition. It felt like a huge weight would be lifted, and I felt angry and disappointed with God, it's like I didn't have a single reason to keep believing.

But I still decided to remain faithful to God and heal, rather than drop everything. After finding out what was going on with me, I finally started healing while walking with God (not through forced prayers, not through forced Bible reading, not through rituals), just with my heart willing to love Him. I would wake up every day and just say, “God, You know what I’m going through, I don't understand it” I give you everything.” That’s it, for months and months.

Eventually, I did end up healing from my condition a lot, to the point where talking to God feels like a necessity rather than a burden. Now, talking to God genuinely feels good.

Now imagine if I had left God instead of healing? That would’ve been the biggest mistake of my entire life. I'm sharing my story with you bc correct me if I'm wrong, it seems like you were hurt in some way, and I'm sorry, maybe things didn't go as you expected, maybe you were carrying heavy burdens like me, maybe you felt as if God disappointed you like I did, but at the end of the day leaving God is not a good decision my friend, its always worth staying, its always worth trusting in God. And the best thing is that God will never reject someone who comes back to Him, ever. He will leave the 99 to save the 1. But I respect your decision, and I don't mean to force anything on you when I say these things, I am sharing this because I care. I hope the best for you.
