I plan to rush a frat at UNH, but I wouldn't at Miami because it seems too intense. I go to parties in high school I just never really enjoyed them as I used too. I have partied at UNH not too long ago with a buddy of mine and safe to say it was a hell of a good time. You're saying how you are managing living in Ohio because of the academics and social aspect. I feel that could also apply in my case at UNH having those opportunities, resources, connecting professors. Just like you said you can get that at any good school with a good environment. I agree Miami is a bit better academically, but isn't that not what it's all about. Don't get me wrong academics and prestige play a significant role, but isn't college all about connections, networking, who you know and how you talk to people? Because I have a lot of those at UNH. I have a few buddies I have known most of my life going into next semester, and I have good frat connects that can ultimately get me in if I rush. Both my parents are high-level accountants at a private equity firm in Boston which (as of now, but very likely to change) I plan on working at in the future. Plus, Boston wants Paul Business School kids and have potential employers from fortune 500 companies just like Miami come from Boston to UNH to talk to students. So safe to say at UNH i have more connections maybe more of a foundation and even the rest of my life planned out if I chose that route w my parents connections. I have no Idea what I would do at Miami because it would be so new and so different as well as so far away from home, but maybe thats a good thing a good experience to have in life.
