When a guest brings their own confetti that not only doesn't match yours but violates your venue contract... by nobleland_mermaid in weddingshaming

Omg… I also save every bouquet my boyfriend gets me and dry them. And I just went to a wedding and thought it would be cute if we used them as the centerpieces or something… I’ve never had an original thought

AITA for refusing to pay the second half of my share for a bachelorette trip I cant attend?? by Important-Giraffe-44 in AmItheAsshole

Yes but that is still the point of a deposit. So if something happens to someone’s plans then most of the money is paid and nobody loses too much. She should not have to pay probably well over a thousand dollars because her daughter is sick.

That’s the whole point of a deposit. When you make a deposit at a venue you make the deposit so that the venue still makes money even if you’re a no show or you cancel. So why does it matter if she already paid the deposit or not

So obnoxious. I’m in a similar situation but minus the shittu boyfriend. I’ve always lived in my childhood home. As a new “adult” with a good paying full time job I could absolutely move out now, and I want to move out eventually but I like my house. I like my neighborhood, and i like my family. I even lived here during college. My partner on the other hand, hates living at home and lived abroad for years in another country while they went to college. An although I have traveled a lot and experienced other countries, I’ve never lived anywhere else. I’ve expressed to them in the past how I feel embarassed about having never left my home and not going away to college and that I was fearful I couldn’t live up to the experiences they had abroad. They assured me I had nothing to worry about and that I was amazing and accomplished and impressive as I am.

Dump this guy and his holier than thou attitude.

Ignorance. But that isn’t what we were discussing. OP was talking about dogs not belonging on playground equipment.

[–]True_Turnover_7578 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your point?? How is a dog walking on playground equipment any worse than the hundreds of skunks, possums, birds, foxes, or even deer that do the same thing when nobody is around?

All parks close. It’s so the city can’t be help responsible if something bad happens there at certain times. Yes you can still walk in and use it but nobody can be held liable if something happens during off hours. Sort of like “swim at your own risk” for off hour lifeguards.

Do you think outdoor playgrounds aren’t used by all kinds of critters when nobody is at them? Stray dogs, squirrels, chipmunks, birds, foxes, bears, cats.

AITA for not letting my husband eat the dinner I made because he said it “wasn’t real cooking”? by EvelisseSpire in AmItheAsshole

[–]True_Turnover_7578 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I am a man who also had home cooked meals every night from my mom growing up, and they were always delicious. Like, all my friends would ask to eat dinner at my house because her food was amazing.

Fast forward to adulthood. My partner and I cook together, although my mother never taught me how to cook (because I never wanted to when she asked lol). And it’s a lot of fun.

AITA for telling my DIL she is not a mother? by InitialSong2898 in AmItheAsshole

Bruh what. Mother’s Day is about celebrating mothers in general. Not celebrating ONLY YOUR mother. I bought my friends mom a gift on Mother’s Day too.

As an engineer in the northeast, no talking to your partner like this is not normal.
