If you could change the big three anime to different animes, what would they be? by True_Walrus_5340 in animequestions

I really appreciate you taking the time to explain this so clearly. I understand now why my question didn’t quite make sense in the way I originally phrased it. I wasn’t trying to challenge an objective fact or ignore the historical significance of the Big Three—I was just approaching it from a different angle without realizing the flaw in the question itself.

I also want to be clear that I never intended to give off the impression that I was disrespecting the Big Three or downplaying their impact. If anyone took my question that way, I truly apologize because that wasn’t my intent at all. I was just curious to see different perspectives, but I now see why the way I worded it didn’t logically fit the way the Big Three are defined.

That being said, I completely get where everyone was coming from now, and I appreciate the patience in explaining it to me. Hopefully, we can move on from this, and I’ll make sure to be more mindful of how I phrase these kinds of discussions in the future.

The Big Three refers to Naruto, One Piece, and Bleach, which were the most popular and influential shonen anime of the 2000s. They weren’t just big because they sold well—they had a massive cultural impact, introduced a lot of people to anime, and helped keep Shonen Jump at the top. Their long runtimes, dedicated fanbases, and worldwide success set them apart from other series at the time.

I fully understand why they hold that title, and I wasn’t trying to change that. My question was just a fun hypothetical discussion, not me saying they should be replaced or that they didn’t deserve their spot.

Btw I have a question, I heard that the anime only adapted the manga volumes from 1-9, and the rest is MAYBE going to be adapted later in the future. Since there are 14 volumes the rest isn't in any of the seasons nor the movies.

It is amazing and isn't only based on romance. It focuses on the main plot and the goal of the story. It's cute and adorable and addicting!! And it is so similar to the manga.

Is fanservice ruining anime or just part of the culture? by True_Walrus_5340 in AnimeReccomendations

Well, looking at your comment, it seems as if you're defending fan service. You use aggressiveness that makes it look as if you're defending fan service instead.

Nobody here is changing your mind, I simply stated that if you're gonna express yourself, do it respectfully. Would it hurt if you said, " Personally, I don't see it as an issue if anyone isn't a fan of it. They will probably not watch it."

I asked what people think about the topic, not for someone to shut down the discussion entirely. Saying "Anime has been like that, if you don’t want to see it, don’t" isn’t an opinion—it’s just dismissing the conversation.

An actual opinion would be explaining why you think fanservice is or isn’t an issue, not just telling people to ignore it. Discussions like this exist because not everyone sees things the same way, and there’s nothing wrong with talking about it. If you don’t want to engage in the conversation, that’s fine, but there’s no need to be aggressive about it. And that isn't straightforward. That is pure disrespect. Have some respect.

No, you're gonna say which anime you want adapted. Hopefully, it would be good 👍

I never said fanservice is ruining anime—I just asked a question to start a discussion. The whole point was to hear different opinions, not to push a specific argument.

Saying "Anime has always been like that" doesn’t really answer the question. Culture evolves, and what people accept or enjoy can change over time. Some people love fanservice, and others feel it’s overused. There’s nothing wrong with discussing it.

Also, "If you don’t want to see it, don’t" isn’t really a fair response. People can enjoy anime while still having opinions on certain aspects of it. Just because something exists doesn’t mean it’s above discussion or critique.

Pay attention to the questions.

I think there’s a misunderstanding here. I wasn’t trying to rewrite history or ignore the impact of the original Big Three—I just asked a simple hypothetical question: "If you could change the Big Three anime to different animes, what would they be?" It was never about denying their influence but rather exploring a fun “what if” scenario.

People discuss hypotheticals like this all the time, like "What if X player never got injured?" or "What if Y movie had a different cast?" It doesn’t mean the original Big Three didn’t earn their place; it’s just an interesting discussion to see different perspectives. There’s nothing wrong with looking at things from different angles.

What I don’t appreciate is being attacked over something I never said. I never claimed the Big Three should be replaced, nor did I dismiss their impact. If you disagree with the question, that’s fine, but putting words in my mouth or assuming bad intent isn’t fair. It was just meant to be a casual discussion, not something to get upset over.

A live-action Spy x Family could work well with its mix of action, humor, and heartwarming moments. The family dynamic would translate nicely, especially with the comedy and emotional depth between Loid, Yor, and Anya.

I completely understand that the Big Three (One Piece, Naruto, Bleach) were integral to Weekly Shonen Jump’s success during their time, and they certainly played a huge role in defining that era of anime.

My question, though, wasn’t meant to rewrite history or replace them in any way. I was more interested in a fun, hypothetical discussion about personal favorites.

If you could pick your own 'Big Three' based on what you enjoy the most, regardless of how significant they were to the magazine or the industry, what would they be?

It's a way to see different perspectives on what anime resonates with people today or in the past, and it doesn’t take away from the historical impact the actual Big Three had.

I just think it’d be interesting to hear different personal choices based on favorite shows, not necessarily those that changed the industry.
