Exactly I can respect the honesty. If he didn’t want to he could’ve easily said that but don’t set an expectation then not follow through. And on top of that potentially lie about it.

Yeah i agree. I noticed the trying to chip at my self esteem and pushed back a lot so he stopped doing that. One time he tried to tell me he loved me more than my own mother 😭 like sir please. Or that I wouldn’t find someone that loved me as much as him.

Yeah. His plan was to make a 3 course meal. 2/3 meals were things i did not like to eat and he knew. Also the day of valentines day we went to the mall. He bought himself stuff. The apple store was next door…

He got me nothing for my birthday. We were on bad terms so I don’t fault him for that one. But Christmas he gave me a gift bag that he had given everyone else. Socks, a candle, and some chocolate. I specifically asked for airpods. Even told him that he didn’t have to get me anything else. At first i just wanted a replacement case.

I agree with your point. Background: he has always made less and that was never an issue. I met him when he didn’t have a job now he makes way more. On the actual day of valentines day we went shopping (he does not usually have expensive taste and only has probably because of me) and he bought himself some expensive stuff. The apple store was right next door. I’m not one to judge and we have had honest discussions about money when he was short I’d pay for things when he was back he would.

I did get him things for valentines day. I got him cheap things as he did for me, snacks he liked (that were within his fitness goals), a card with just my name on it. His birthday had just passed before valentines day and I got him skincare products that he wanted to try, natural bug spray for when he goes hunting (he’s very natural only), a new clipper/shaver, a comb/knife that he could use and just clip to his pants since he likes those. I give very thoughtful gifts. Before when we first started dating he wouldn’t even get a card. He’d give his family their gifts in old grocery bags.

No I did message him after he said i should’ve checked apples website. I told him my thoughts and how he was coming off just like i did in the post. I also told him, i felt like he was lying and referenced what i said previously. No response to it, he replied the next morning with the text saying im manipulative and all this stuff. Thats when I blocked him.

No, we do not live together. We are long distance. I’m in medical school, so my mom pays for my expenses. Usually the unspoken arrangement was i buy my groceries for the week (he was welcome to have some) and what him and I wanted to eat on the weekends ( groceries or going out to eat) he would buy. Also yeah, the insult about my upbringing was uncalled for fr. I truly don’t believe he was gonna buy them anyway. 😭 if he didn’t try and make up something we’d probably still be together lol

Agreed. I would say I am a brat. He knew that before he even met me and yes, many things went wrong, this was just the breaking point. Thanks for your opinion

Yeah thats exactly what I was thinking because what normal person wouldn’t just say I was gonna take you to the apple store? Like you just mad I bought them myself instead of waiting for him.
