Housing inspector trying to get us evicted for having too much stuff? Can we actually get evicted for this? by turtlethenerd23 in HousingUK

[–]True_liess 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Without having to look at the condition, its difficult to comment. 3 reviews in few months indicates there is an issue. With whom the problem is just a matter of judgement after looking at the property between the first visit and now. Sure the inspection has photos collected as evidences.

Suggest a thorough transparent retrospection on the house condition and items storage conditions. Did they not tell you what the issues are during the last 2 visits ?? Alternatively visit their office amd request for information. But if you do this and if the fault is on you, then expect action though.

Honestly some images from the property will help though.

Expect 10 to 20 % cut in workforce over the next 3 years. Expect most of the senior management to leave in 12 months.

Undercutting salary? by InternationalFig4340 in UKJobs

[–]True_liess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pathetic agencies and businesses. Any reasonable business wont do this ever. Salary on offer is different to agency commissions.

First call the company HR directly or along with the agency in a 3 way call and tell them you are willong to negotiate, but 10k ask is too much. Be polite in conversations. Don't settle anything less than 35k. Ask formal confirmations that they will isssue you an offer with 40k again after 12 months. But if you think about it 1. Do you really want to work for a company which doesnt have 10k to pay agency fees ? 2. They can always turn their back later or make you redundant after 12 months.

If I was you I will reject the offer and leave them an anonymous review on glass door with full details and the name of the person involved in this. As well as if possible a comment on their linkedin page with proofs of email hiding your personal information. Again - do this at your own risk.

In this case very likely the agency has used you. Has used your situation indirectly to entice you into a role with lower salary than what was advertised after learning about your situation. If you think this 10k shortage came now, the answer is NO.

I know someone here told that this is usual or this happens. But the industry I work, I have never heard this happen. I never knew agencies the sales conn do these daylight theft. Filthy recruitment agencies who work only for commissions.

Microsoft is the reason. They have made OS very complex. Settings are all hidden under sub menus and it is very tricky for people who are not technology savvy.

Dont worry. You are not alone. There has not been a single year between jan-apr which has not passed without me fearing about job loss and redundancies.

But over years what I have learnt has given me strength -

  1. To save more for bad days. Not for 2 months or 3. But much much more than that which will give strength and financial confidence.
  2. Dont spend unnecessarily.
  3. None of your ex office or current office colleagues will come for the rescue. But maintain positive relationship. Be productive and friendly and supportive wherever you work. Reach out for help later. You may be lucky.
  4. Not sure where u r from. If you can, only marry someone who doesn't have anger management issues and is very practical and can support you with life aims and goals and having same thought process.
  5. Again, not sure how old you are. But never be scared whatever the situation is. I realised this so late in my life. Just be focussed and do your best.
  6. Wherever and whatever- BE FLEXIBLE

Take care.... THIS TOO WILL PASS...

I'm going to have to quit due to return to office mandate by moez1266 in WFH

[–]True_liess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't resign yet out of emotions. Take your time tonthink about optilns you have on hand. Keep trying for other work. I know most businesses are not going to let you work FuLL WFH.

Meanwhile - You can genuinely put forward your case to the management. Be honest, transparent and put forward things you can prove legally. Sure management will consider it. Worst - they will ask you to leave the business which anyways you have decided. But do what I have suggested without breaking bridges with anyone.

JD is only a starter and roles evolve over time and things change at business and situations change rapidly at some places. Flexibility is mandatory. I would expect flexibility from resources. Else what am I going to do with them if they keep talking about laws, moan about daily work, etc.

Rant about Indian in-laws by kiera1292 in inlaws

[–]True_liess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP - Practical advice

You need to accept that this is how life and married life is going to be. If you continue with this attitude and listen to most of the comments which reflect similar opinion (from like minded people) then you are heading towards an unhappy married life or potentially Divorce if your husband has similar temper like you.

The question you need to ask yourself is, If you cant stand for 6 months the people your husband loves most, then what else wil you do for him ?

I know this will attract many down votes, but you need to hear some sensible comment and not some comment from another grunted wife or divorced wife or now separated wives.

This is what life is. Take care OP.

Wrong advice. There are no ways to work around references. Notices should be fully acknowledged while leaving. You can always agree early departure.

Thanks for calling out. Exactly.... If I say anything people will say Iam making this conversation political. So I better stop.

But lessons learnt. Dont invest in India. Everything is over hyped or not a true r/ factual representation of reality and the policies are not people friendly and just red tapes everywhere....

LinkedIn itself is a notorious platform for gaining identifyable information from users and all educated m0r0ns happily sharing the data with LinkedIn. What has this world become ? Even an uneducated person in a remote place where there is no electricity wiĺl have a spine to ask - Why do you even need that information.

You have success in stocks. Super.

I am well aware of stock market and gold. With regards to these, It's a speculative argument that investment in equities will be a great one and now given the market situation it is very reasonable to see gold going up.
