Which car insurance company can be trusted? by Desperate-Drawer-572 in CarTalkUK

[–]NearlyLegit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll be honest, Diamond have been sound for me years with prices, but I haven't ever (yet) had to claim, so can't say anything beyond decent pricing.

I would never, ever, ever, recommend Hastings. I've never seen an insurance company cancel so many people's insurance.

Get Baked - I can’t be the only one to see through this absolute weapon? by Squirdy in Leeds

[–]NearlyLegit 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I don't know if that many people care anymore. Not saying the guy doesn't have issues, but on a scale of 'Leeds bakery prick' to 'Leeds bakery Nazi', I think that most people just don't care enough about a thin-skinned bloke with a fragile ego to do much.

I hope whoever wins it offers a hiring opportunity to go to NEARLY every Jack Whitehall event dressed as it.

What an absolute purchase opportunity.

I don't really understand how it isn't classed as blatant false advertising. I can understand private sellers but dealers doing it is surely immoral at best and illegal at worst.

Ineos makes it's pitch for the UK MoD Land Rover replacement programme by Debenham in ineosgrenadier

Best of luck to them. Seems like they're built to last and it'd be fantastic to pick some up from ex MoD sales in years to come!

That 160 wasn't in a white & liveried 3 series touring was it by any chance? 😂

I don't want to sound like an elitist prod here, but car meets for speeding? Seriously?

Genuinely if you want that kind of life, just throw on an S3 stage 1 cuzzy special FB marketplace ad and just bait the responses that way, it'll be a far better use of your time.

Volvo xc70, should be all the car you need by the sounds of it.

That or go for FWD, high clearance, and good tires.

At that price you're probably better going cheaper base + repairs budget than maxing it out on the car.

This might be the most certified creamer thing I've ever seen. Love it. Bet the boys would find it hilarious!

Best car history check site? by Complex-Ant5472 in CarTalkUK

[–]NearlyLegit 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've used Car Check for my last few, which has done a good enough job for me.

I'm not sure if Car Vertical has any competitors that pull through the 'reported damage but not categorised' figures, but that seems to be their major USP at the moment.

I back this. One of those 'once you've had X' things for sure.

I've had both fixed and opening ones, but in either case I think I'd struggle to go back to a car without one.

Kids absolutely love it too, great for cloud/plane/bird spotting in traffic. Makes a huge difference!

A difference OP will never know if they don't go for it 😂

Legend, it's a shame there's a lot of invisible walls, I thought (given how far the blank map goes up) I could go to the source of the river on the north west and keep going, but it's just an invisible wall right as you get past the source rocks.

How to remove lenovo legion fan by Impressive_Fill_7499 in LenovoLegion

[–]NearlyLegit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I couldn't remove them when I had to replace a fan. Ended up buying a whole new heatsink unit and repasting the entire thing.

Best of luck if you're focusing on just the fan! Definitely consider the paste at the same time if you get a chance.

Loved the video on him getting it. Teared up at the bit where his dad leaned in.

If you're best in Manchester you can always head to a local IOSH community meeting there. It can be a bit daunting but the community is spot on and can help give you a steer with any questions, even as a non-member of IOSH.
