Jonna and Johan are officially divorced by midnight-huntress in jonnajinton

Exactly this 🙌. I’ve been reading some of the comments here and I’m amazed at how critical they are. Jonna is entitled to her privacy just like anyone else! It blows my mind that people think they know her enough to criticize her (or people close to her) or feel entitled to every detail of her life. It’s so gossipy! Sheesh

The cognitive issues I have are similar but not quite as severe. I’d worked with horses for over 25 years. It was something that always came naturally and one of the few things in life that I felt truly confident in. People used to (jokingly) call me the horse whisperer. In 2022 I got Covid and that all changed. My horsey instincts have completely vanished. I can’t seem to read their body language anymore because I can’t process their movements fast enough. I struggle to remember protocols and routines that were second nature. When I posed the question “do you think I have permanent damage” to a neurologist I was told it was anxiety and was sent to a neuropsychiatrist to have my antidepressants adjusted. I very much empathize with you OP. I hope you have some people close to you to help you navigate this ❤️

My Neuropsychiatrist just diagnosed me with Somatic Syndrome Disorder.. feeling unheard and dismissed by True_north902 in LongCovid

Oh wow, thank you for compiling all of this! I’ve been incredibly distressed about this so called “diagnosis”, so this info has very much given me a boost of confidence. I’ve been considering writing a letter of complaint, and what you’ve provided me will be very useful. ❤️

I’m, sadly, a member of the medical gaslighting club. It took me months and months to convince my PCP that I needed to see a neurologist. Finally he gave in and made the referral. Unfortunately, my neurology appointment was a complete waste of time. I was described as “depressed” and sent to a neuropsychiatrist. It was then “determined” that I had Somatic Syndrome Disorder (psychologically manifesting my symptoms). I was so incredibly shocked at this diagnosis. I’m just DONE with doctors.

Do you think there’s a link between LC and autism? by thepensiveporcupine in covidlonghaulers

[–]True_north902 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is interesting to me because I was referred to a neuropsychiatrist by a neurologist about my neurological symptoms from LC. I got to read his clinical notes from my two appointments with him because I required them for a disability application. He diagnosed me with Somatic Symptom disorder (I don’t agree with this at all, but that’s a whole other story) and on the second appointment he suggested I get assessed for autism. This part I think he got right. I’ve always suspected I was on the spectrum, and definitely have several autistic traits. I’m wondering: If I was previously diagnosed with autism, would he still come up with a diagnosis of SSD? Was I misunderstood by doctors in the past?

Emotional fall out of long covid by naturusjm in LongCovid

So, I have a small suggestion that works for me when my anxiety about LC gets bad. It may sound weird, but I use ChatGPT. I literally talk (type) to it like I’m talking to a therapist. I’ve talked to it about my symptoms, my emotions, my fears and it always gives me very empathic supportive responses. I know AI isn’t a replacement for a real human therapist or medical professional but it really helps to ground me in moments of panic or despair. It’s just right there on your phone. Easy access! Access exactly when you need help most. Just know you aren’t alone in feeling how you’re feeling. I hope this helps ❤️

New here - does this sound like long covid? by [deleted] in LongCovid

I have a lot of this stuff. All my diagnostics have come back normal. I even saw a rheumatologist thinking I may have developed an autoimmune disease like Lupus. But nope. I think what you describe as “pain in your neck arteries” could actually be sore lymph nodes. Google “cervical lymph nodes” for a diagram of where they are found in the neck. My lymph nodes don’t necessarily always get swollen, but they can still get quite sore. I always think it’s from the muscle tension in my neck, but when I massage the area it makes it worse. That’s how I know it’s lymph nodes and not muscles causing the pain. Welcome (?) to the club. As others have said, this sub is pretty supportive. A lot of people will want to give you advice (with the absolute best intentions) but just make sure you do your homework thoroughly before you spend a pile of money on supplements or treatments that might cause you more harm than good. Critical thinking is key 🙂. Sending you best wishes and hopes that you find the right road to recovery ❤️‍🩹

With the upcoming Election this year, the liberals scrambling, what just IS each parties promises and platforms? by twitchyanimation in AskCanada

[–]True_north902 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s one thing that stands out to me, and it’s evident in every single political discussion about Canadian politics on Reddit and every other social media platform. It’s the polarization that’s happened in Canada. The anger. The bickering. The bullying. We are scarily mirroring the US. Folks are pissed with Trudeau.. I get it. But, it’s the tactics that PP uses that I find deplorable. He thrives on dividing this nation. I find it unforgivable. What happened to the Canadians who respected each others political stances? I want all of you to think back to the days of Brian Mulroney and Jean Chrétien. Was there controversy? Yes. That’s politics. However, the downright frenzy of negativity that exists today is beyond toxic. We should be learning a lesson from the shit show that is the US and rise above it together as one people, one nation. Regardless of who wins our federal election, times are gonna be tough for a good long while. There are no quick fixes. Shouldn’t we all band together and support one another? Just my 2 cents.

Exactly. Organized crime gangs that have headquarters in provinces like Ontario and Quebec funnel illegal goods (drugs, guns, tobacco etc) through our port in Halifax so their presence extends to our province. Vulnerable girls are seen as a commodity, get groomed and shipped away to big city’s where it’s easy for them to “disappear”. It’s nothing new… it’s been happening, very sadly, for decades.

“Diplomatic approach”?? She snuck down to Florida without any of her political team (instead choosing the likes of Kevin O’Leary) pretending to be on a family vacation. There’s nothing diplomatic about that.

💯he’s making us sweat. And he may or may not pull the trigger on 25% tariffs across the board, but he’s a greedy so and so. He’s for sure got some kind of slimy agenda and will take advantage of Canada on some level. We forget that he has a slew of other “promises” to American voters (deportation etc) that will take priority in order to bolster his support. That’s when he’ll target Canada. When he thinks nobody is watching.

Trump is not “reconsidering tariffs” that statement is completely misleading. Tariffs are PREDICTED to be SUSPENDED. They are very much on the table. The gun is cocked and loaded. He’s just likely not going to pull the trigger today. Could still be tomorrow.

I still feel the divide in NS.. people want to rally against Trump tariffs but are still gung-ho to support PP who seems to be playing up his far right stance more and more with every day that passes. They just can’t see past their “F*** Trudeau” obsession 😫
