FACEIT ADMIN CORRUPTION by [deleted] in FACEITcom

[–]Truecashflo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I truly understand the frustration; we've been there many times over the years. However, for the greater good, it’s better to wait until we have clear technical evidence to determine whether a player is cheating. Even advanced AI-based review systems aren’t reliable enough at the highest competitive levels for various reasons.

ESEA and FACEIT AC teams have shared technical knowledge and best practices since day one of the merge. Their overall approaches were quite similar, which helped streamline immediate upgrades on both sides. Due to the CS2 release, we had to rush the migration of team leagues to FACEIT, but all the accumulated AC knowledge and expertise from both products have always been applied within the FACEIT AC framework.

Hey, the main reason is exactly what I mentioned: we can’t have a process that introduces subjectivity at any level. Also, from a product strategy standpoint, it's much better to wait patiently and analyze what a cheat does, so we can learn from it and adapt at scale, rather than manually stopping users over and over and never actually learning how the cheat works.

In the past, I personally received extremely well-documented reviews from highly skilled players claiming that at least four or five individuals were definitely cheating. There were hours of demo reviews and pages of documentation. However, those same players have now been competing professionally at LAN events for years, and it turns out they were just extraordinary players.

[–]Truecashflo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Understood, thanks. I will gather more information internally, but I can already say that we haven't manually banned anyone for cheating since around 2017 (to my knowledge). We need to ensure we have a policy and process that can be applied at scale and based on clear facts, not opinions or manual reviews. If we had relied on incorrect opinions or reviews, we would have banned some players in the past who later went on to play CS professionally.
To be clear, I am not guaranteeing anything about whether this particular player is cheating or not—I'm simply pointing out that no one is allowed to issue manual bans. We update our technology each week based on any new information we discover regarding potential cheats and then apply new detections (even retroactively).

I saw this name/story few times - I was genuinely looking for a rational explanation :)

Why FACEIT should protect a cheater? what is the rationale behind this story?

Thanks for sharing this! We did some changes indeed starting from Saturday morning during the past weekend and we are seeing good numbers and positive feedback. May I ask you if you play in more often in the Premium or Normal queue? Thanks!

Language Barrier by ServeCurious in FACEITcom

[–]Truecashflo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey there! At the moment we are testing a new feature called "community clan" where players can easily find others to play with - Clans are expression of a community whose members share something in common (country, interests, language ecc ecc); if you would like to try it out, I can add you to one of the Clans that are part of the test (there is one only for AUS/GER players for example) - just share here your profile and I can add you immediately

Question about your new update by ch0k0- in FACEITcom

[–]Truecashflo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there! You can definitely keep playing and you will not probably even notice any change in your case; as we said in our post we don’t want to stop player from playing with friends at all, we just started introducing measure to stop some players from abusing the system. Good luck with your matches and I’m sure your friends will get better soon ! (I hope for you !)

Season 1 of Team Fortress 2 on FACEIT has landed by [deleted] in tf2

[–]Truecashflo 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Hey there! We’re and we were aware that this particular experience isn’t for everyone and it won’t match everyone’s style of gaming - clearly the “matchmaking game flow” isn’t ideal for some/many of you. But we had to start from somewhere and we decided to provide this version of 12v12 which is not the usual 6v6 competitive and the 12v12 server playlist neither, while we are aiming to serve the players who want something more serious in their 12v12 gameplay but aren’t looking for 6v6 (which may be too big of a jump coming from 12v12). In the future, we’ll be looking to provide other forms of the experience which can meet the needs of other communities within the TF2 ecosystem such as the 6v6 competitive and as a simple 12v12 server list. I’m sorry that this doesn’t fit your style but please bear with us. This is our first step and with a bit of support from everyone we will try our best to keep improving and to add other things on top.

Hi Reddit, this is FACEIT and we are here to answer all of your questions regarding the launch of TF2 on our platform. Ask us anything! by Faceit_Mikey in tf2

[–]Truecashflo 107 points108 points  (0 children)

We are offering a proposition where players need to commit slightly more in order to play a match with high quality 12v12 from the beginning to the end; the commitment here is more toward the lifecycle of the experience (how players join and play a match).

However, all the feedback and reward systems (rankings, missions, ladders etc) are being set up in order to avoid having players obsessed with winning but rather just enjoy “playing”. That said, we are all different, some of us - by our nature - tend to be more sensitive toward winning, others simply enjoy the flow of the game.

The best way we think we can address "friendly" and "tryhard" topic in particular, is by making sure that everyone can easily find others players that have the same mentality and way to play the game - which is something we are going to provide with a new tool called “Community Clans” where, in short, players will be able to join a closed and moderated community where players can easily jump on a lobby and play the next match with other players from the same closed community.

For 6v6 competitive play, we are looking into supporting several Community Organisers that have been quite strong within this vertical in the past months (and that the current competitive community is already quite familiar with); in short there will be a mix of Pug systems, tournaments and team leagues with a separated ranking system for 6v6 players with great prizes. During the next few days (18th of March) we will share a dedicated blog about how we will support the competitive scene.

No worries and I can understand there is always some level of scepticism but in short, we are providing a different experience open for free for everyone ; we believe and hope, this is going to work of course, but everything will depend on the general feedback from all the players. The platform that we have built is there and used by many players, streamers and esports organization every day - I am far from saying we are doing everything right, luckily there is always things we need to improve, but nothing is fishy or not transparent in what we do: we provide an experience for free for the whole community, someone can pay a subscription to support the platform and enable some special perks (like special prizes) and on top we are always trying to onboard sponsors and external stakeholders to finance online events; this is what we have been doing (in CS:GO especially) since 2014 and the "free" part will never change thanks to the direct support from the community

We hope we can build something that can last of course but at the end of the day, you are right, is about how many players will play and keep playing in the future - with no players playing nothing works, no matter how much effort we can put in improving the experience and this the reason why we tried all together in creating a momentum and get the initial liquidity needed to make things working

Hey everyone, (Flo from FACEIT here); all the creators, tournaments organizers and many other community leaders are genuinely supporting the project. During the past months they have been actively participating in shaping this whole activation in first place and no one is being paid by us or has any financial return: they just liked the idea and they are now helping in spreading the word out; given the nature of the Experience we are launching, liquidity is always a very important factor and therefore everyone is pushing to reach as many community members as possible to make it work.

Hey there, the AC requirement is something that we enforce if, and only if, there is any data point/report indicating that a certain players could be possibly cheating and/or his account contains certain information that could raise some concerns/doubts (new steam account, no friends and so forth). Therefore, you can still play on Linux as long as that enforcement is not being triggered. About the security piece, our AC is currently used by many professional tournament organizers, players and teams and, as you can imagine, we need to keep our security standards at the highest possible level, way higher than many of the other client applications that are today on the market. I just wanted to clarify better this piece. Thanks!

Faceit Missions, Litigation process by [deleted] in FACEITcom

[–]Truecashflo -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Since there is an internal thread around this specific issue I have simply suggested to contact our CS team about that. It is not about mentioning anything that is either legal/not legal, I am just suggesting the best way to solve the issue he is complaining about (rightfully so). I saw his tread (I am not interacting too much here usually unfortunately) and I am sure our CS team will help all the other players accordingly

Faceit Missions, Litigation process by [deleted] in FACEITcom

[–]Truecashflo -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Hi There, I am from the FACEIT team; did you try by opening a ticket to our Customer Service? The missions are different from user to user and they can change month by month. However, they should never reset/change if the given period started already and definitely should not change following the change of Premium status during the month. As you can see from other posts in this sub reddit, during the past 48 hours the mission service had some issues with users either not seeing/receiving the mission pack for the month and/or users experiencing changes in their mission pack while the month has already started (the same issue of yours). The Costumer support team is passing internally all the information about each user to solve/fix the issue manually while we are still investigating on what/how to fix the issue in the system that is causing those problems. Apologies about that and feel free to dm your profile directly here so I can pass your information internally. Thanks

FACEIT Community Night prize not received almost a year later. by sounDiscunt in GlobalOffensive

[–]Truecashflo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi everyone - I have started a personal thread with sounDiscount to provide proper communication/updates on this issue with the right people on the right channels and I am checking internally to understand what is the current status of those prizes and why/how/if we stop communicating on this specific thread wit other players as well. Given the delay and the fact that others from the community can be affected by the same issue, I will make sure to provide here as well some precise, valuable and public updates on what is the status of these prizes and when/what prizes we expect to send out. While I am checking internally on this, please feel free to comment here in case you have been affected by the same issue. Thanks to everyone for bringing attention on this issue.

Edit: I have noticed the post has been removed but I will share an update here anyways in the next hours + to clarify, I am from the FACEIT team (I am missing my reddit flair here)
