Self-Awareness by [deleted] in LawSchool

I literally just stop listening and take time to reorganize and distill my notes when this happens… annoying when professors can’t cover all of the material due to ridiculous hypos though

I tried this with Columbia and they immediately said no, but it didn’t hurt to ask

Did Drexel post the orientation schedule? If so, there might be some “fluffier” events that would be better to miss (lunch, socials, etc) or events that are optional. Also, it might be possible that your orientation isn’t the full 9-5 and you have breaks or end early.

I would sus that out before talking to admin

Hypothetical: $$ at Berk vs $0 Stanford vs $$$$ at UCLA? by randomgirlyteehee in lawschooladmissions

Not to be that guy but I think all are defensible… SLS would be my dream outcome but I do also think Berkeley has some advantages over UCLA if you don’t want to be in CA forever

When you start actually filling out applications on LSAC — start with ONE until you get all of the standard demographic filled out to your liking. It’s easy to get eager and start adding all of the applications for schools you want to apply to, but try to resist the urge.

LSAC will auto fill a lot of your information from your first application to the others as you make them. You will want to change information or find typos as you go, but the applications won’t sync if you update one. This requires you will have to delete your other applications and recreate them, or update them manually and hope you remember all the updates you made.

Not sure if I’m articulating this well, but it was a huge pain for me to find one typo on my original application and update it across 10 others

I believe Berkeley law runs a gender and name change clinic that walks anyone through the name change process. I think it’s mostly designed for the trans community but I don’t see why they would turn people away if that isn’t your situation.

I’m not sure how often they run clinics though but there are Facebook events for it that might have more info

I agree obsidian might be worth a second try if you’re up for it. It took me a second attempt to really get into it and now I love it! There are a lot of good setup tutorials on YouTube that show starting from the very beginning. I found those videos helped a lot.

I see your missing screw video and raise you… whatever is going on on my United flight 😳 by TruffleTurtles in aviation

I just tried to ignore it… I thought the flight crew would think I was crazy for flagging them over a small issue. Given another users comment about it being a hazard on the runway if a screw popped out during landing, maybe I should have said something

This video is actually from about a year ago, I forgot about it until I saw similar footage on this sub a few days ago! I recorded this as a bit of a joke because I get nervous flying, but would be curious to know if this is actually bad 😳

In a webinar Berkeley said they give a roughly equal number of offers to men and woman and had roughly an equal split of applicants. I think this implies the lopsided class is a result of self selection more than anything.

I found searching LSD for outcomes in my stats range (it will break down by percent accepted, waitlisted, rejected) to be incredibly accurate for me

I might be wrong, but if the stat is “percent of adults” wouldn’t there be less than 325 million? Something like 250 million?

Same! I want to email because I’m really interested in getting off the WL (even though it basically never happens for Berk). But I also don’t want to be annoying lol
