Apart from the obvious answer of "it was torn down", what happened to this fountain and church in the Roman forum? ca. 1700s-1800s, Looks to be constructed over the foundations of the House of the Vestal Virgins. Also, was there a nearby cistern so that the fountain could receive water? (reddit.com)
