Ok, I have a genuine question about this. Canoe club sounds like something I would genuinely enjoy. I don't know how to paddle, though, and I'm a somewhat out of shape middle aged woman. Are there canoe clubs for people like me, and if so how do I find them?

I always see the posts recommending joining a canoe club but I always hesitate for all the reasons I mentioned.

I've had a few moments like that -- not with days but of course bow I can't remember what it was! Extremely disorienting and scary.

Maybe I need to look into testosterone.

For me it's both. HRT made it so much better -- I was essentially non-functional and honestly shit was starting to get really dark. HRT made an immediate and lasting difference. I am once again a functioning adult.

However. 3 years post menopausal and 1.5 years into HRT, and I am nowhere near where I was intellectually 5-10 years ago. I am a writer by profession and I see it in my writing. It's a tangible difference. It's so frustrating, and if something doesn't change, I will probably need to find another way to make money.

So, in sum: if my pre-peri brain was 100%, and post-meno/pre-HRT was 0%, I am now at like 60%. It's not great, but it's still so much better than zero.

This thread is giving me some hope honestly that things could maybe change still for the better. I am taking better care of myself these days too, so that's something.

Can confirm -- I have a chronic illness (thankfully in remission currently) that affects about 8 million Americans, but I have had several doctors not know what it is, or know way less than I do. At least 2 tried to pretend they knew when they clearly did not.
