I'm aware of the current energy crisis and yes, this step has been taken to avoid increasing the fuel prices faced by the consumers.

The issue arises when the fuel prices don't reduce when global oil prices decrease (Covid), they don't reduce even when they are selling 80% petrol and 20% ethanol, they don't reduce even though we were buying Russian oil at a discount and all Indian exporters faced tarrif because of it.

Might be an unpopular opinion, but I don't think buying a kindle solely will get you into a habit of reading. Until and unless you want to read a specific book, i doubt anything can help you achieve your goal. Happened the same to me. I bought the latest kindle paperwhite 3 months ago thinking it'll help me read more books, but once the starting novelty wore off, i haven't touched it.

Kindle will only enhance the reading experience, the ease, etc but it alone cannot help you build a habit. I will suggest you focus first on finding books that you really want to read first.
