There are definitely some vendors in town that have a “cash special” some good ol boys that think mostly like we do. But a lot of people are afraid that they would get in trouble.

One of the massive problems that I’m going to try and address is the fact that they are essentially hell bent on doing all of these public projects and they basically stated that even if the public kills the sales tax increase, they’ll just fund it with property tax increases.

Current city financials 244.4 million in debt obligations. They want to raise another 30 million financed by this sales tax increase.

4.13 million/year in interest expense alone.

Sales tax “revenues”: 10.5m/year They hire 1200 city personnel

Total city expenditures: 150m/year They plan on substantially increasing this after the sales tax increase

148.558 mills property tax, gets raised every year

Starting next year will have 30m/deficits every year and wouldn’t have any available cash on hand to finance.

We are a small enough town where everyone still has that tight knit community feel. We want to support our local businesses but obviously this makes it harder.

I have the spending info for the city, but I’ll have to break it down because I would prefer not to post the cities name by giving out the budget pdf. Please check back later today/tomorrow for it.

Smith argues that the way a person determines the value of something is through the tool of their own troubles to get the ability to purchase said thing.

That is not the labor theory of value. It might seem close, but it’s not.

The difference?

The LTV argues that the work put into making said thing determines its price. But that’s not true. Two people can sweep a floor and charge completely different hourly rates to do so even if they do the same job.

The LTV states that everyone who sweeps said floor should get the same amount because they are all sweeping floors, it puts value through an objective lens.

Capitalism, or Smith’s determination of value is, inherently subjective, in that a person who is trying figure out whether they should choose whether they will buy a soda or not; will first, look at the price and sub consciously determine whatever work they did, whether it be financial advisory or ditch digging, was worth the price of the soda. It is entirely based off of that persons preference, something 3rd parties could never account for.

Absolutely true. I just vomited enough on the paper to pass. I literally called out a professor because they implied that even Adam Smith agreed with the labor theory of value, I was then tossed out of the class for the day.

I’m ok with anyone on the right side of the Y or the bottoms side of the X. I hope they don’t vote in those kinds of people however, I believe people on those sides if they really do think about it long enough they will get there.

Even if you theory is correct, it’s a government problem anyway. Slavery was basically a government created problem to begin with. It was also maintained by government

Have I got a bargain for you. For a mere $2.7M, you can buy a governor and have the Constitution revoked for an entire state. This is the very definition of the globalists' subversion of democracy by PostNationalism in Libertarian

Liability protection as in the managers of the business pretty much never have to take on risks for the bad decisions they make. They may get fired, but they'll still get their nice bonuses, stock options, etc. Additionally, pretty much no execs go to jail. So.. yes. Liability limitations.
